Regular season baseball is BACK! Following an exciting Home Run Derby and the best All-Star Game in years, all 30 teams will return to action on Friday as they begin the homestretch of the schedule. Of course, that means betting on baseball is back, too – and DraftKings is offering a 20% Parlay Boost to kick off the weekend.

As always, it is worth noting that straight wagers are a far more profitable long-term betting strategy than parlays. Still, parlays can be a fun way to get some extra action on a game to make things interesting!

Reds vs. Mets OVER 3.5 - First 5 Innings (-154)

Prior to the All-Star break, the Reds offense had been seeing southpaws well. Since July 4, Cincinnati ranks 12th in wRC+ against left-handed pitching, and tonight they’ll get to face Sean Manaea, who will be making only his 2nd big-league appearance of 2025 after coming back from a lengthy stay on the injured list. On the other side of this matchup, the Mets will get a crack at Nick Lodolo, who has struggled to a 4.78 FIP since the beginning of June. These two teams should be able to put some good swings together early in this contest.

Padres vs. Nationals UNDER 5.5 - First 5 Innings (-220)

The Padres and Nationals both limped to the All-Star break, offensively. During the last 14 days, both of these offenses rank 24th or worse in wRC+ against right-handed pitching. Dylan Cease hasn’t done a good job keeping runs off of the board in recent weeks, but his underlying metrics suggest that positive regression is likely in store during the second half of the regular season. Outside of a poor start against the Red Sox, Michael Soroka has thrown the ball well since rejoining the Washington rotation. Factor in some potential rust at the plate for hitters who haven’t been in the cage the last few days, and we could see this be a relatively low-scoring ballgame early.

Seth Lugo UNDER 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-130)

Seth Lugo completed 6 innings in 4 of his last 5 trips to the mound prior to the All-Star break, but it’s worth noting that Kansas City often doesn’t allow him to face a team’s best hitters three times in the same game. As a result, Lugo has faced 22 batters or fewer in 6 of his last 9 starts. Tonight, the Royals have a rested arm barn behind him, with all of their relievers fresh after a few scheduled off days. If Lugo can effectively navigate Miami’s lineup twice this evening, he probably won’t be left on the hill much beyond that – giving the under on his earned runs some value here.

Tyler Glasnow UNDER 16.5 Outs Recorded (-125)

Tyler Glasnow returned from the injured list to make 1 start prior to the All-Star break, but he didn’t look particularly sharp in that appearance. Glasnow didn’t allow an earned run in that start, but he averaged an inefficient 4.25 pitches per batter faced and walked 3 batters. This evening, he draws the same tough matchup against an extremely patient Milwaukee lineup – an offense that just saw him 9 days ago. The Dodgers are known to be conservative with their starting pitchers, and that could be even more true tonight, given that Los Angeles has a completely rested bullpen coming out of the All-Star break. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Glasnow be a 5-and-dive guy on Friday.

Brandon Walter UNDER 1.5 Walks Allowed (-260)

Brandon Walter enters play this evening having walked 2 of the 165 batters he has faced this season. He attacks the zone relentlessly, evident from his 67.3% first-pitch strike rate. Tonight, he has the added benefit of facing a Seattle offense that doesn’t walk at a high rate. During the last 30 days, only 5 teams have a lower walk% against southpaws than the Mariners.
