New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins Betting Predictions

The New York Yankees enter this matchup first in the AL East with a seven and a half game lead over the second place Blue Jays. New York has won seven straight prior to the results of Wednesday night's game, including game-one of this series 10-4. The offense had another productive day with 14 hits and 10 runs, above their season average of eight hits and 4.87 runs per game. The Yankees bullpen was solid as well in game one and have been having a fantastic year with a team ERA of 2.77. Right-handed pitcher Gerrit Cole is scheduled to start on Thursday. Cole is 5-1 in 11 games this season with an ERA of 2.78 and has given up 47 hits, 20 earned runs, and struck out 81 batters in 64.2 innings.

The Minnesota Twins are currently first in the AL Central standings with a four and a half game lead over the second place White Sox. The offense has been inconsistent throughout the season, but have scored eight or more runs in two of their last four games. Minnesota’s bullpen is struggling as of late with five starting pitchers currently on the injured list. The right-hander Dylan Bundy is expected to take the mound on Thursday. Bundy is 3-3 in nine games this season with an ERA of 5.57 and has given up 52 hits, 26 earned runs, and struck out 36 batters in 42.0 innings of work.

I like the Yankees to finish off this series with a win. Cole has been great this year and should be able to give the Yankees six to eight solid innings. Bundy really struggled in his most recent outing and I expect that to carry over into this one. Not much value in the Yankees moneyline, so will be playing New York runline here.

New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins Betting Conclusion

New York has been a tough team to bet against and I see no reason to do so in this matchup. Bundy has struggled to find a consistent rhythm this season and I expect him to struggle against this Yankees lineup. Cole has been great this season and should be no different here. Backing the Yankees runline in game-three.
