New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Angels Betting Predictions

The New York Mets enter this matchup first in the NL East standings with a six and a half game lead over the second place Atlanta Braves. The Mets have won 10 of their last 14, including game one of this series 7-3. New York's offense has been one of the best in the league this season, averaging 5.1 runs per game. The bullpen has struggled a bit, but should be back on track once Scherzer returns to the rotation. Right-handed pitcher Taijuan Walker is scheduled to start Sunday. Walker is 3-2 in nine games this season with an ERA of 3.28 and has given up 44 hits, 17 earned runs, and struck out 25 batters in 46.2 innings.

Los Angeles is currently second in the AL West standings, nine games behind the Houston Astros for first place. The Angels have fallen apart as of late, losing 14 of their last 15 games. The offense has averaged just three runs per game over that stretch while the bullpen has given up an average of 5.8 runs per game. The left-hander Patrick Sandoval is expected to take the mound Sunday. Sandoval is 3-1 in nine games this season with an ERA of 2.81 and has given up 39 hits, 15 earned runs, and struck out 46 batters in 48.0 innings of work.

I like the Mets in game-three of this matchup. Walker has pitched well in most all of his starts this season and should see success against a struggling Angels offense. I expect Sandoval to have a decent outing, but for the rest of the bullpen to have a tough time against this Mets lineup. Backing the Mets moneyline here.

New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Angels Betting Conclusion

Until the Angels can show some signs of life it's tough to find reason to back them. The Mets have been great with their bats this season and will see success regardless of who Los Angeles sends to the mound. Backing New York here until Los Angeles can start winning games again.
