Baltimore Orioles vs. Seattle Mariners Betting Prediction

The Baltimore Orioles enter this matchup in last place of the AL East standings, 19 and a half games behind the New York Yankees for first place. Baltimore most recently went 2-1 SU in a series with the White Sox and have won seven of their last 10 games. The Orioles were solid on both sides against Chicago, scoring 13 runs throughout the series while holding the White Sox to just seven runs. The Orioles have not played well this season, but have picked it up over their last 10, averaging 4.3 runs while allowing opponents just two runs per game. The Orioles are expected to send right-handed pitcher Tyler Wells to the mound Monday. Wells is 5-4 with an ERA of 3.34 this season.

Seattle is currently fourth in the AL West standings, 12 games behind the Houston Astros for first place. The Mariners went 2-1 SU in their most recent three-game series with the Los Angeles Angels and have won six of their last 10 games. The Mariners bullpen was great against the Angels, holding Los Angeles to just eight runs throughout the series. The offense struggled a bit with just 10 runs scored. However, this is right on par with their season average of 3.95 runs per game (25th) and team ERA of 3.74 (8th). Seattle has the right-hander George Kirby scheduled to start Monday. Kirby is 2-2 SU with an ERA of 3.12 this season.

I like the value in the Orioles moneyline here. Baltimore has gone 10-5 SU over their last 15 games and the pitching has been fantastic. The Mariners bullpen has been solid as well, but I think their lack of offensive production will hurt them in this matchup. Backing the Orioles moneyline here.

The Orioles went 1-1 against the Nationals last Wednesday, but then went 1-1 to the White Sox in their next game on Sunday. They kept the Chicago White Sox from scoring any runs in the first contest of the series on Thursday. Their best performance was in the second contest of a two-game series, on Wednesday, when Baltimore routed the Washington Nationals by posting seven runs. The Mariners have played excellent recently, highlighted by Seattle posting back-to-back series victories over the Athletics and the Angels squads, resulting in a solid 5-1 record across that window. Seattle didn’t allow the Athletics any runs on Wednesday in the second of three contests. The second of three matches on Wednesday marked a nine-run effort by Seattle against the Oakland Athletics, which was their best performance this week.
