Detroit Tigers vs. San Francisco Giants Betting Prediction

The Detroit Tigers enter this matchup fourth in the AL Central standings, 12 games behind the Minnesota Twins for first place. The Tigers went 2-1 SU against the Arizona Diamondbacks in their most recent series and have lost six of their last 10 games. Detroit was solid in games one and two against Arizona, scoring 11 while holding the Diamondbacks to four runs. Game three was a different story as Detroit lost with a final score of 11-7. The Tigers have struggled all season, averaging three runs per game (30th) with a team ERA of 4.12 (21st). Designated hitter Miguel Cabrera has been one of their most productive hitters with a batting average of .296 (67-226), three home runs, and 23 RBIs.

San Francisco is currently third in the NL West standings, six and a half games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place. The Giants most recently went 1-2 SU in a three-game series with Cincinnati and have lost six of their last 10 games. San Francisco struggled against the Reds in games one and three, scoring a combined five runs while giving up 12. Game two was good for the Giants with a final score of 9-2. The Giants bullpen has been giving up runs all season with a team ERA of 4.01 (18th) while the offense has been solid, averaging 4.88 runs per game (T-5th). Left fielder Joc Pederson has been a big part of their offensive success this season with a batting average of .273 (51-187), 17 home runs, and 39 RBIs.

This will be the first meeting between these two teams on the season. I like the Giants to cover the runline in this matchup. San Francisco has struggled as of late, but I expect Carlos Rodon to have a solid outing against the Tigers and for the offense to get back on track. Not much value in the Giants moneyline, so will be playing the runline in game one.
