Week 10 of the NFL season continues with a non-conference showdown between heavyweight offensive attacks as the Chargers host the Lions. The betting odds see Detroit as a short-road favorite as the Bolts return home seeking their third straight victory. Coverage begins from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Sunday, November 12 at 4:05 p.m. ET on FOX.

Detroit Lions vs Los Angeles Chargers Odds

• Opening point spread: Pick
• Opening moneyline: Lions -120/Chargers even
• Opening total: Over/Under 48.5 points scored
• Time: 4:05 p.m. ET Sunday (CBS)

UPDATE 4:30 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: TwinSpires Sportsbook pegged the Lions 2-point road faves to open and advanced to -2.5 on the way to the current -3. Detroit is netting 58% of early spread bets/74% of early spread money.

"Sharp play on Lions -2/-2.5. And the public is coming over the top on Detroit," Lucas said.

The total backed up a tick from 49 to 48.5, with 63% of bets on the Over/58% of money on the Under.

"Sharp play on Under 49," Lucas said.

UPDATE 8 P.M. ET TUESDAY: The Chargers dispatched the Jets 27-6 laying 3 points on the road in the Week 9 Monday nighter. L.A. (4-4 SU and ATS) is on a modest two-game SU and ATS uptick.

After Lions-Chargers got to Detroit -2 Monday afternoon, The SuperBook briefly backed up to -1.5 this morning. But the line quickly returned to Detroit -2 and shortly thereafter advanced to -2.5.

The total crept up from 48.5 to 49 for about 30 minutes this morning, then returned to 48.5.

UPDATE 11:30 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Detroit (6-2 SU and ATS), coming off its bye week, has been on fire for a year. Dating to early November 2022, the Lions are 14-4 SU and a more sizzling 15-3 ATS.

In Week 8, Detroit rebounded from a blowout loss at Baltimore by beating Las Vegas 26-14 as 7-point home chalk.

Los Angeles (3-4 SU and ATS) still has Week 9 work to do. The Chargers visit the New York Jets on Monday night.

"We closed pick on [last week's] lookahead and took a bet to get to Detroit -1," Michaelson said, noting the Lions then moved on to -1.5 tonight at The SuperBook. "The Lions will be off a bye against a team on a short week, which you don't typically see in the league. While some of the shine is off Detroit after it got beat badly by Baltimore a couple of weeks ago, it's hard to make the Chargers favored against a good team."

Lions vs. Chargers Pick, Prediction

Action Network NFL betting expert Brandon Anderson offers this prediction:

This game is a mismatch. The Lions have the better offense and the far better defense. In fact, Detroit may have the better quarterback right now with as well as Goff is playing and with Herbert struggling some with that finger injury. This Chargers defense is ripe for the picking, and Ben Johnson's offense should be ready to fire on all cylinders coming out of the bye.

Los Angeles ranks near last in the league in Pass Rush Win Rate, so Goff should have all day to pick apart this defense. Detroit has a big rest advantage and it might steal home-field advantage with the way fans have been traveling this season.

The Lions rank No. 2 in first down DVOA offensively, and the Chargers' defense is bad against early downs and last in the first half by DVOA. I think the Lions will dominate an overconfident team that they are simply much better than.
