NFL Odds Week 13: 49ers vs Eagles Lines, Spreads, Betting Trends

Week 13 of the NFL season continues with a heavyweight NFC showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles. The betting odds see Philly as a short home underdog despite owning a two-game lead over the Niners in the conference standings. Coverage begins from Lincoln Financial Field in South Philly on Sunday, December 3 at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX.

San Francisco 49ers vs Philadelphia Eagles Odds

• Opening point spread: Pick
• Opening moneyline: 49ers -145/Eagles +125
• Opening total: Over/Under 46.5 points scored
• Time: 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday (FOX)

UPDATE 3:45 P.M. ET SUNDAY: With kickoff approaching, the Niners are -3 (-105) in DraftKings' NFL odds Week 13 market. The Eagles opened -1 (-105), but the line quickly jumped the fence last Sunday night to 49ers -1.5.

San Fran went to -2/-2.5/-3 Monday, then over the course of the week toggled between -3/-2.5 a couple times. Philly is getting 56% of spread tickets, while 56% of spread money is on San Francisco.

The total opened at 45, stretched to 47 by Monday and peaked at 48 Thursday. It's since receded to 46.5, with 71% of tickets on the Over/65% of money on the Under.

UPDATE 6 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: San Francisco opened -2.5 and now sits at -3 (-105) on TwinSpires' NFL Week 13 odds board. The Eagles are landing 62% of spread bets, while 72% of spread cash is on the Niners.

"It's a Pros vs. Joes matchup. The Pros are all over San Francisco, while the public loves getting a 10-1 team +3 at home," Lucas said.

TwinSpires' total climbed from 45.5. to 46.5, then tonight went to 47.5. The Over is seeing 58% of early bets/66% of early cash.

UPDATE 10 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Philadelphia (10-1 SU/7-2-2 ATS) got a win and cover by the narrowest of margins in Week 12. Facing a desperate Buffalo team, the Eagles won 37-34 on a Jalen Hurts TD run in overtime. Hurts' 12-yard jaunt allowed Philly to cash as 2.5-point chalk.

San Francisco (8-3 SU/6-5 ATS) enters this matchup off a mini-bye, having played on Thanksgiving night. The 49ers rolled past the Seahawks 31-13 giving 7 points on the road.

"We went back and forth on this line, eventually settling on pick 'em," Michaelson said of The SuperBook's opener. "The Eagles are in the middle of such a difficult stretch, and the power rating for San Fran is out of this world. We expect plenty of two-way action, and this game figures to be among the highest-handle games of the season."

Perhaps surprisingly, San Fran moved to -1/-1.5 within a couple hours tonight.

49ers vs Eagles Pick, Prediction

Action Network NFL betting expert Brandon Anderson offers this prediction:

I love the 49ers here. This is my favorite side of the week and a matchup I’ve been waiting for all season, and I already grabbed San Francisco on the Hot Read on Sunday night at -110 on the moneyline.

I'm fading an Eagles team that’s clearly good, but also a bit overrated. Philadelphia is a good team masquerading as elite, second in our Luck Rankings thanks to a 7–1 record in one-score games, five of those against teams .500 or worse. Elite teams shouldn’t be in so many toss-up games against inferior opponents. The Eagles have trailed at halftime in four straight games and have been outgained by at least 98 yards in all four. It matters that they won those games, but the struggles getting over the finish line matter too.

But this isn’t just a blind Philly fade .  I love this matchup for the 49ers because San Francisco will dominate the middle of the field. Kyle Shanahan unlocks the middle of the field with his offense better than anyone, and Philadelphia’s defense is built to sacrifice the middle of the field and invest on the line and at corner. The linebackers are weak, and the 49ers will attack that weakness with 21 and 22 personnel. Christian McCaffrey is a nightmare matchup, and George Kittle should have a huge day against a pass defense that ranks 32nd by DVOA against TEs.

The 49ers rank first in DVOA on first and second down, while the Eagles are 22nd defensively on first down. On defense, the 49ers are also built to win the middle of the field with Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw perhaps more capable than any linebackers in the league to handle Jalen Hurts and Philadelphia’s rushing attack. The Eagles' run game also hasn’t been as strong this season and is further compromised by the Lane Johnson injury.

It's time, 49ers fans. You've been waiting for this one.
