Two of the early tips on Wednesday night’s college basketball betting board feature matchups in the Atlantic 10 and the Big Ten.

The St. Bonaventure Bonnies will be on the road against the No. 7 Dayton Flyers. The other early tip pits the Penn State Nittany Lions against the reeling Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor.

Betting Matchup

The Bonnies have just two straight-up losses over their last 13 games but they are coming off a 91-63 pasting at the hands of VCU as 10 ½-point road underdogs on Saturday. This snapped a four-game winning streak both SU and against the spread. They are 12-6 SU overall with a 10-7 record ATS. The total has gone OVER in five of their last eight outings. St. Bonaventure is averaging just 68 points per game and it is allowing 63.3 points a game on defense.

Sophomore guard Kyle Lofton leads the team in points (14.5) and assists (6.5). He had just six points with five assists in Saturday’s loss.

Dayton has positioned itself as one of the top teams in the nation at 16-2 SU. It is 10-7-1 ATS and the total has gone OVER in four of its last five games. The Flyers extended their SU winning streak to seven games with last Friday’s tight 78-76 overtime road win against St. Louis. They failed to cover as seven-point favorites to slip to 4-5 ATS over their last nine contests. Jalen Crutcher hit the winning three-point shot as part of his 21 points in that game.

Obi Toppin has been slowed a bit with a bad ankle as the team’s leading scorer this season (19.6 points).

Betting Trends

-- The Bonnies are 2-7 ATS in their last nine road games and the total has stayed UNDER in 10 of their last 13 games played on Wednesdays.

-- The Flyers have won 10-straight home games SU but they have failed to cover the closing spread in four of their last five Wednesday games.

-- Dayton has won the last four meetings SU as part of a 9-1 record against St. Bonaventure in the last 10 games. The series is tied 2-2-1 ATS over the last five matchups. The total has gone OVER in the last nine games between the two A 10 foes.

Betting Matchup

Penn State snapped a three-game skid both SU and ATS with Saturday’s 90-76 victory at home against the Ohio State Buckeyes as slight one-point underdogs. The Lions improved to 3-4 SU in conference play as part of an overall record of 13-5.They are just 2-5-1 ATS over their last eight outings. The total went OVER 137 ½-points in the win against the Buckeyes and it has gone OVER in five of their last seven games.

Lamar Stevens scored 24 points in that latest win. The senior forward leads Penn State in scoring this season with 16.6 PPG. The Lions are averaging 77.9 PPG.

The Wolverines have faded from the national rankings with three losses in their last four games (SU and ATS) . They are 2-4 in six Big Ten games and 11-6 SU overall. Michigan is 3-5 ATS over its last eight contests and the total has gone OVER in its last four games.

With five players averaging at least 10 PPG led by center Jon Teske, the Wolverines are scoring 78.2 points a night. Isaiah Livers (13.6 PPG) remains questionable for Wednesday with a groin injury.

Betting Trends

-- The Lions have failed to cover in four of their last five road games and the total has gone OVER in six of their last eight Big Ten games.

-- The Wolverines are 18-2 SU in their last 20 games at home and they are 10-5 ATS over their last 15 games played in January.

-- Michigan has won eight of the last 10 meetings SU with Penn State holding the slight 3-2 edge ATS over the last five matchups. The total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in eight of those last 10 games.
