As always, it is worth noting that straight wagers are a far more profitable long-term betting strategy than parlays. Still, parlays can be a fun way to add some extra action to a game and make things more interesting!

Detroit Tigers -1 (-154)

The Detroit Tigers are 12-2 SU in Tarik Skubal’s last 14 starts, and they have won nine of those games by multiple runs. Even after dropping their last six contests, the Tigers still own the best record in the American League, with a winning record at home and on the road. This is good value for them to get back in the win column this evening.

UNDER 8 (-184)

Jacob Latz might not work extremely deep into this ballgame, but for the time that he’s out there, he’s likely to be effective.

Since the beginning of June, Latz owns a 2.81 ERA, 3.12 FIP, and 1.06 WHIP. He’s limited quality contact in the air and missed a healthy amount of bats.

On the other side of this matchup, Tarik Skubal will toe the rubber for the Tigers. Skubal enters the second half of the campaign as the odds-on favorite to win his second consecutive Cy Young award, and tonight, gets a favorable matchup against a Rangers lineup that has struggled against southpaws.

Both of these arm barns are rested ahead of first pitch this evening, as well, which should keep the latter frames from being too high scoring.

Spencer Torkelson OVER 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+160)

This season, Spencer Torkelson has been at his best against left-handed pitching, hitting .272 with a 170 wRC+ and 1.027 OPS.

Tonight, he will get to face Jacob Latz to open the game. Latz has command issues in general, but especially across the platoon, walking 11.4% of right-handed batters he’s faced this year.

Latz also has ghastly time-through-the-order splits, in a limited sample, which could mean good things for Torkelson, assuming Latz is permitted to work into the fourth inning or beyond in this contest.
