Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Prediction

Prior to the results of game-two on Tuesday night the Rockies are last in the NL West standings, 15.5 games behind the Dodgers for first place. Colorado lost game-one of this series and are 5-5 SU over their last 10 games. The Rockies managed eight hits but just three runs in game-one against the Dodgers. This was a slow day for Colorado as they are averaging 4.48 runs per game this season. The bullpen gave up eight hits and five runs to Los Angeles. This is not surprising as the Rockies bullpen has struggled throughout the season with a team ERA of 4.98 (28th). The right-hander Jose Urena (0-0, 3.52 ERA) is expected to take the mound on Wednesday.

Los Angeles enters this matchup first in the NL West standings with a five-game lead over the second place San Diego Padres. The Dodgers took game one of this series 5-3 and have won six of their last 10 games. If Los Angeles can manage to stay healthy, this will be the team to beat in the National League come playoff time. Both the offense and bullpen have been dominant this season. Their offense is averaging 4.97 runs per game (2nd) while the bullpen has a team ERA of 2.95 (2nd). Right-handed pitcher Mitch White (1-1, 3.93 ERA) was scheduled to start Tuesday, but the Dodgers changed course and decided to start Ryan Pepiot instead. White is the next man up, but no official decision has been made as of Tuesday night.

Regardless of who takes the mound for the Dodgers, it's tough to back a team that has an ERA of 4.98 on the season. That is a recipe for disaster more often than not when facing one of the top hitting teams in the league. Not much value in Los Angeles moneyline so will be playing the runline in this matchup.
