Los Angeles Angels vs. Baltimore Orioles Betting Prediction

The Los Angeles Angels enter this matchup fourth in the AL West standings, 17.0 games behind the Astros for first place. The Angels have not played well over the past two months and have lost six of their last 10 games including game-one of this series. Los Angeles’ offense has been terrible over that stretch, averaging just 2.4 runs per game. This is well below their season average of 4.06 runs per game (24th). The bullpen hasn’t played well either, allowing opponents 4.1 runs per game over their last 10. This is a bit above their season ERA of 3.91 (15th). Left-handed pitcher Reid Detmers (2-3, 4.66 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Angels Friday.

The Baltimore Orioles are currently last in the AL East standings, 20 and a half games behind the New York Yankees for first place. The Orioles have won five straight, including game one of this series and have won six of their last 10 games. The offense has hit the ball fairly well over that stretch, averaging 4.3 runs per game. This is right on par with their season average of 4.10 runs per game (20th). The Orioles bullpen has been great over their last 10, allowing opponents 3.7 runs per game. This is a bit better than their season ERA of 3.99 (18th). The right-hander Tyler Wells (7-4, 3.09 ERA) is expected to take the mound for Baltimore Friday.

For whatever reason the Angels cannot seem to get anything going. With Trout and Ohtani, you would think this team would at least be in the mix for lead of the AL East but that just is not the case. Instead, I have more faith in the Baltimore Orioles to win this game with Tyler Wells taking the mound. Wells gave up three hits and one run to the Twins in his most recent start and should be able to similar success in this matchup. Backing Baltimore here in game-two.
