Prior to the results of game-one on Tuesday night, the Twins enter this matchup first in the AL Central standings with a one game lead over the Cleveland Guardians. Minnesota went 2-2 SU in their most recent series against Toronto and are 5-5 SU over their last 10 games. The offense has been a bit down over that stretch, but has been solid throughout the season with a batting average of .251 (9th), on base percentage of .321 (8th), slugging percentage of .417 (8th) and have scored 488 total runs (12th).  Minnesota’s bullpen has not seen as much success with a team ERA of 4.02 (19th) and WHIP of 1.24 (13th). Right-handed pitcher Sonny Gray (6-3, 3.19 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Twins Wednesday.  

Los Angeles has a commanding lead over the rest of NL West with a 16.0 game lead over the second place San Diego Padres. The Dodgers swept the Padres in their most recent three-game series and have won nine of their last 10 games. Both the offense and bullpen have been great throughout the season. The offense has a batting average of .260 (3rd), on base percentage of .336 (1st), slugging percentage of .446 (2nd) and have scored 571 total runs. I like Los Angeles in game-two of this series. Don’t get me wrong, the Twins are a solid ball club, but this Dodgers team is on a whole other level. The bullpen runs deep, and the offensive lineup is filled with productive hitters. Backing the Dodgers runline in this matchup as I expect the Twins to struggle.
