The Yankees enter this matchup atop the AL East standings with an eight and a half game lead over the second place Blue Jays. With just 10 games left on their schedule New York is oh so close to clinching the division. New York most recently swept the Red Sox in a four-game series and have won eight of their last 10. Things were looking a bit shaky for the Yankees after returning from the All-Star break, but things look to be back to normal in the Bronx. The offense is back to playing great with a batting average of .241 (17th), on base percentage of .325 (5th), slugging percentage of .429 (4th) and have scored 770 total runs (2nd). The bullpen has also been solid with a WHIP of 1.12 (3rd) and team ERA of 3.36 (3rd). Right-handed pitcher Luis Severino (6-3, 3.36 ERA) is scheduled to start Monday.  

Toronto is currently second in the AL East standings, eight and a half games behind the Yankees for first place. If the Blue Jays are unable to win the division, they are still in good position to make the playoffs as they are in the lead for the AL Wild Card race. Toronto went 2-2 SU in their most recent series against the Tampa Bay Rays and are 5-5 SU over their last 10 games. The offense has been outstanding for the Blue Jays throughout the season with a batting average of .261 (1st), on base percentage of .327 (3rd), slugging percentage of .430 (3rd) and have scored 728 total runs (6th). I like the Blue Jays to take game-one of this series. Gausman has pitched twice against the Yankees this season and gave up a combined two runs in 12.2 innings of work. This should be a competitive series, but I like the Toronto moneyline here in game one.
