Ahead of Super Bowl LVII, VegasInsider conducted a survey representing the US population focused on their opinion on the upcoming halftime show, which will be headlined by Rihanna on the 12th of February, 2023. 

MOST WANTED GUEST PERFORMER 

The survey respondents were asked to pick their most wanted guest performers for Rihanna’s halftime show, based on the long list of all of her previous collaborations. Britney Spears came out on top with 22.6% of votes, followed by Eminem with 19.46% of votes and ASAP Rocky with 14.53% of votes. 14.1% of Americans would prefer to not see any guest performers, and 12.54% would like for Drake to make an appearance. 

Rihanna collaborated with Britney Spears on the remix of her song “S&M”, which landed at #1 on the Hot 100 Billboard chart. Eminem is a frequent collaborator of Rihanna - they worked together on the number 1 hits “The Monster”, “Love The Way You Lie” as well as a non-single “Numb”. 

ASAP Rocky was featured on the remix of “Cockiness (Love to it)”. Drake and Rihanna worked together on the number 1 hits “Work” & “What’s My Name”; Rihanna was also featured on “Take Care” & “Too Good”.

“Rihanna could go in many different directions with her halftime show setlist,” says a VegasInsider spokesperson. “She could go with the fan favorites, most streamed songs, most viewed songs, number #1s, or she could also perform the newly released Black Panther 2 track “Lift Me Up”, which is one of the front-runners for the Best Original Song at the Oscars.”

“Diamonds”, written by Sia, landed at #1 on multiple worldwide charts & its video has over 2 billion views on YouTube, which makes it Rihanna’s most viewed video on her YouTube channel. 

“Don’t Stop The Music” has been certified 6 times platinum and it peaked at #3 in America. 

“All of the lights” with Kanye West, Fergie & Kid Cudi won Rihanna one of her 9 Grammy Awards.

“Rihanna has many great songs to choose from and the fact that her most streamed songs and most viewed songs on YouTube differ is only a testament to her longevity as an artist,” says a VegasInsider spokesperson. “The fact that she emerged in the late 2000s, and has survived in the music industry through its shift from physical releases to digital releases and she is still a streaming force today in spite of not having released a new album since 2014 is remarkable.”

THE MOST POPULAR HALFTIME SHOW 

The respondents also expressed which halftime show of the past 10 years has been their favorite - last year’s show, which was headlined by Dr.Dre, Snoop Dog, Eminem, Mary J.Blige & Kendrick Lamar came out on top with 14.9% of votes. The 2020 show headlined by Jennifer Lopez & Shakira came out second with 13.06% votes, Lady Gaga’s 2017 show ended up in the third spot, being the favorite show of 12.8% of Americans. WATCHING HABITS 

The Super Bowl watching habits of Americans differ. Most of them will watch both the game and the halftime show (55.45%), but some will watch only the game (21.4%) or only the halftime show (10.9%). 12.3% are not planning to watch the game nor the halftime show.

BETTING PLANS

When it comes to Super Bowl betting plans, 46.45% of Americans are not planning to bet anything. 33% are anticipating to bet up to 500 dollars, 11.84 % are planning to bet up to 10 000 dollars, 1.9% will bet up to 100 00 dollars and 0.7% are planning to bet more than 100 000 dollars. METHODOLOGY

• The survey was conducted by VegasInsider between 15-17th of January 2023 through an external survey provider with a sample size of 1159 respondents, which were split equally to represent the age groups and geographical distribution of the population in the United States in order to achieve an accurate representation of the population’s opinions
