Packers vs Giants Prediction, Picks & Betting Odds for Monday Night Football Week 14

The Packers are finally beginning to turn things around as they enter this contest riding a 4-1 run consisting of tough wins over the Lions, Chargers, Rams and Chiefs, with their only loss during that span coming in a tough road battle against the Steelers.

That said, Packers QB Jordan Love is getting a ton of praise after leading Green Bay’s offense to 29 and 27 points against Detroit and KC the last two weeks, and rightfully so. But the real story for GB is the transformation of a defense that surrendered 24 PPG through the first four games of the season, and since then, has held opposing teams to just 18.4 PPG across an eight-game sample.

According to VegasInsider’s Patrick Everson, BetMGM originally opened the line for this contest at Packers -5, and since then, the spread has moved one-and-a-half points to -6.5 at most shops, with Green Bay reportedly attracting counts of 4/1 tickets and 6/1 money as of Friday evening.

On the flip side, the Giants have owned the title of “the worst team I’ve ever seen in my life” at several points throughout the year. However, I’ve slowly backed off of that take over the last few weeks, which is primarily due to New York’s solid play on the defensive side of the ball. The Giants have held their opponent under 20 points in five of their last seven games, despite winning just three of those matchups.

There’s no denying the fact that the Packers have played well recently. However, they still enter this matchup having scored 20 points or less in seven of their last 10 games, which should set the stage for another low-scoring battle in this spot. According to Action Network’s Evan Abrams, the Under is 11-2 on Monday Night Football this season. Twenty points should be enough to win this game. Give me the under.

Green Bay Packers Betting Analysis

This is a much different Green Bay team than years past (for obvious reasons) following the departure of Aaron Rodgers. In Jordan Love’s first campaign under center, the Packers rank 17th in the league in scoring, and they’ve scored 20 points or less in seven of their last 10 games. 

But somewhat similarly to NYG, Green Bay’s defense has sprung to life out of necessity as of late, having surrendered 20 points or less in five of their last eight contests, now ranked Top 10 in the league in scoring at 20.3 PPG after propelling the team to wins in four of their last five matchups.

New York Giants Betting Analysis

Personally, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the change of pace in the content streaming out of New York ever since Tommy DeVito took over at quarterback for the Giants. At first, it was pure chaos as New York fans began to sound panic alarms when the Giants opened the season looking like a total dumpster fire immediately after signing QB Daniel Jones to a new contract.

But in the aftermath of Jones’ season-ending injury and the bottom completely falling out for New York, the chaos has quickly turned into a “laugh at our pain” situation, and against all odds, the Giants have actually become a fun team to root for – and it seems like they might be riding the positive vibes a little bit, as they enter this week following back to back wins.
