2022 SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

San Francisco finished third in the NFC West with a record of 10-7 last season, which still comfortably earned a Wild Card spot with Philadelphia also sneaking in behind them at 9-8, as the Niners posted a miserable 3-5 start to the year, and then went 7-2 the rest of the way to clinch their second playoff berth since 2014.

However, the Niners still weren’t expected to do much in the postseason, especially after drawing Dallas in the first round; but they certainly did some damage, as San Francisco posted thrilling upset victories over the Cowboys and Packers en route to last year’s NFC Championship Game, where they came so close to pulling off a three-game season sweep of the Rams, but L. A. ultimately prevailed (L, 20-17).

Despite their deep playoff run, the Niners seem keen on moving in a different direction at quarterback, as they attempted to trade Jimmy Garoppolo this past offseason to pave the way for Trey Lance to take over, but they couldn’t find a suitor, so San Francisco finds itself in a bit of a QB controversy.

However, there’s no reason for concern as San Francisco’s success typically isn’t reliant on offense, considering the Niners ranked just 15th in scoring and 11th in total yardage last season (24 PPG, 361 YPG), which was almost enough support to ride their 5th ranked defense all the way to the Super Bowl (20.6 PPG, 312 YPG).

Best Bet: Deebo Samuel to Win Offensive Player of the Year (+1100)

WIN TOTAL ODDS

  • Over 9.5 (-150)
  • Under 9.5 (+120)

San Francisco’s win total is stationed at OU 9.5 with a moderate lean towards the over at -150, which may seem unreasonable for a squad that finished third in the division last season; however, the Niners shouldn’t have much trouble clearing that bar with matchups against the Bears, Panthers, Falcons, Dolphins, Commanders, Saints, Raiders, plus a handful of 50-50 games on this year’s slate.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS ODDS TO WIN NFC WEST

+190

The Niners are listed at +190 to win the NFC West, which is the second-best odds to win the division behind the Rams (+130); and despite last year’s impressive postseason run, I’d give San Francisco some time to figure out its QB situation before committing to a long-term play at a relatively confident price point.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS ODDS TO WIN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

+650

The Niners are listed at +650 to win the NFC, which is fourth-best odds to win the conference behind the Buccaneers (+325), Packers (+500), and Rams (+500); and rightfully so, as San Francisco came just a field goal shy of reaching last year’s Super Bowl, however, it’s tough to warrant backing a squad with so many question marks at that price point, especially with an offensive powerhouse like the Cowboys (+750) trailing them on the odds list.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS ODDS TO WIN SUPER BOWL 57

+1400

The Niners are listed at +1400 to win this year’s Super Bowl, which is the sixth-best odds on the board behind the Bills (+650), Buccaneers (+750), Chiefs (+900), Rams (+1100), and Packers (+1200); and while San Francisco may ultimately bounce back with another deep postseason run, I don’t see value in backing the Niners at a worse price than squads like the Broncos (+1600), Cowboys (+1600), Chargers (+1600), Bengals (+2000), and Ravens (+2000).

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS

Trey Lance (QB) +4000

Deebo Samuel (WR) +6000

Jimmy Garoppolo (QB) +10000

Elijah Mitchell (RB) +15000

George Kittle (TE) +20000

Nick Bosa (DE) +25000

Lance (+4000) and Garoppolo (+10000) are both listed as distant longshots to win this year’s MVP award, which probably isn’t worth much consideration, however, Niners’ WR Deebo Samuel boasts the fourth-best odds to win Offensive Player Year; and rightfully so, after racking up 1,770 total yards and 14 TD’s last season, which ranked third in total yardage behind Colts’ RB Jonathan Taylor (2,171 YDS, 20 TD) and reigning OPOY Cooper Kupp (1,993 YDS, 16 TD).

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (-220) | No (+175)

The Niners ultimately came three points shy of punching a ticket to last year’s Super Bowl, however, people seem to forget they nearly missed the postseason also, as San Francisco needed to mount a gutsy 4-1 run down the homestretch to secure the second Wild Card spot in the NFC; but it never came easy, and some questions need to be answered before I consider backing this squad to make the playoffs at -220.
