DALLAS COWBOYS vs. NEW YORK GIANTS BETTING PREDICTION

It hasn’t been pretty, but the Giants are off to their first 2-0 start since 2016, as Daniel Jones and co. posted a thrilling road victory over the Titans in Week 1 (W, 21-20), which was followed by a tough home win over the Panthers in Week 2 (W, 19-16), despite averaging just 20 PPG on 329 YPG across those two contests.

The Cowboys, on the other hand, have been on quite the rollercoaster to open the season, as Dak Prescott and co. scored just three points on 244 total yards in an ugly loss to the Bucs in Week 1 (L, 19-3), however, they bounced back with Cooper Rush at the helm in Week 2, as Dallas handed Cincy its second straight loss with a narrow victory in Jerry World this past Sunday (W, 20-17).

I’ll back Dallas here, as the Cowboys have the far superior roster in this matchup, and their offense was surprisingly decent with Rush under center last week (20 PTS, 337 YDS); likely presenting an uphill battle for a Giants squad that barely squeezed out victories in their first two matchups of the season against the Titans and Panthers.

Score Prediction: Cowboys 23, Giants 20
Best Bet: Cowboys ML (-105)

DALLAS COWBOYS ANALYSIS

The Cowboys won the NFC East with a record of 12-5 SU last season, earning the third seed in the conference and a home playoff matchup against San Francisco on Wild Card Weekend. However, their title hopes fizzled out quickly, as the Cowboys’ top-ranked scoring offense generated just 17 points on 307 total yards en route to a stunning home loss in the opening round of the postseason (L, 23-17).

I wouldn’t exactly call their first-round playoff loss a “disappointment,” especially after the Niners went on to upset Green Bay in the Divisional Round, and came just three points shy of knocking off L. A. in the NFC Championship Game (L, 20-17); but for a squad that’s 59-40 in the regular season since drafting Dak Prescott, you’d think Dallas would have more than one playoff win to show for its annual success during that timeframe.

NEW YORK GIANTS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Giants finished last in the NFC East with a record of 4-13 last season, which tied the Jets for the third-worst mark in the league. Health issues were partly to blame for the Giants’ struggles, especially on the offensive side, highlighted by New York’s modest 4-7 record through the first 12 weeks of the season. However, Jones’ season-ending neck injury completely derailed their campaign, and they went 0-6 the rest of the way.

Giants’ RB Saquon Barkley participated in 13 contests last year, which is tied for his career high since suiting up for all 16 games during his impressive Rookie of the Year season back in 2018. However, Barkley dealt with a lingering injury for most of last year, and the Giants’ 31st ranked offense didn’t exactly breed run-heavy scenarios often (15.2 PPG). So, it’s good to see him back in the saddle early this season (282 TOT YDS, 1 TD).
