NFL betting expert Michael Crosson gives his same game parlay selection for Monday night's primetime matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers. Odds provided by DraftKings.

The Niners stumbled out to a slow start with QB Trey Lance under center, as San Francisco scored just 10 points on 331 total yards in a wild slip-and-slide game against Chicago in Week 1, which was followed by another lackluster first-quarter performance against Seattle in their following matchup, as the Niners scored 21 of their 27 points after Garoppolo’s entry at the 2:30 mark in the first quarter.

However, the spark provided by Garoppolo wore off quickly, as the Niners scored just 10 points on 267 total yards and turned the ball over three times in an ugly one-point loss to the Broncos in primetime last week; and while their subsequent performance can’t possibly get any worse, I’m certainly not expecting them to get much going against a tough Rams’ defense either.

The Niners’ offense has been surprisingly careless with the football to start the year, as they’ve already turned the ball over five time through the first three weeks of the season, which is tied for the eighth-worst mark in the league in the giveaway department. However, three of those five turnovers were lost fumbles, and now they face a Rams squad that’s forced three fumbles across their last two contests, so I’ll back the Niners to cough up another one here.

Deebo Samuel was pretty quiet in the pass-catching department to open the season, as Samuel hauled in just two-of-seven targets for 14 receiving yards against the Bears in Week 1, despite still managing to salvage the afternoon with eight carries for 52 rushing yards. However, his role in the passing game has expanded rapidly since the switch to Garoppolo, as Deebo reeled in 10-of-14 targets for 117 receiving yards in the Niners’ following two matchups against Seattle and Denver.

So, I’ll back his receiving numbers to continue trending upward here, as Samuel tallied 50+ receiving yards in 13 of the 16 regular-season contests he participated in last year, and he’ll probably see similar volume with Garoppolo at the helm for San Francisco moving forward.
