CINCINNATI BENGALS vs. CLEVELAND BROWNS BETTING PREDICTION

The Browns have been on quite the rollercoaster to start the season, as Cleveland kicked things off with an eventful 2-1 stretch, while scoring 28.3 PPG and allowing 24 PPG in those three contests. However, Cleveland’s defense has really struggled since Week 3, highlighted by the Browns surrendering 28.5 PPG across an 0-4 skid in their ensuing four affairs, bringing them to a lackluster record of 2-5 heading into Week 8.

The Bengals, on the other hand, have also experienced their fair share of ups and downs to start the year, as Cincy posted a pair of head-scratching losses to the Steelers and Cowboys in the first two weeks of the season, while scoring just 18.5 PPG and turning the ball over five times in those events. However, Joe Burrow and co. have played excellent since their opening skid, as the Bengals bounced back with an impressive 4-1 run in Weeks 3 through 7, while racking up 27+ PTS in all four of their victories during that span.

I’ll back the Bengals here, as the Browns have now scored 20 PTS or less in three of their last four contests, and to add salt to the wounds, their defense also surrendered 23+ PTS in all four of those affairs, likely setting the stage for a lopsided battle against a Bengals squad that’s scored 27.2 PPG and allowed just 17.8 PPG since Week 3.

Score Prediction: Bengals 24, Browns 17
Best Bet: Bengals -3 (-110)

CINCINNATI BENGALS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Bengals stumbled out to an incredibly disappointing start after coming just three points shy of winning last year’s Super Bowl, as the reigning AFC Champs dropped their first two matchups of the season to the Steelers and Cowboys, making Cincinnati just the sixth team in the Super Bowl era to start 0-2 immediately following a trip to the big game.

Cincinnati’s offense has really cranked up the heat since their head-scratching start, highlighted by the Bengals scoring 27+ PTS in four of their last five contests. However, the more noteworthy aspect of the Bengals’ turnaround has been their defensive dominance, as they also held their opponent to 19 PTS or less in all four of those affairs.

CLEVELAND BROWNS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Browns were swarmed by drama all offseason, as Cleveland parted ways with Baker Mayfield to make room for three-time Pro Bowler Deshaun Watson, who’s still in the process of serving an 11-game suspension, which in turn, delegated the Browns’ QB duties to Jacoby Brissett for the bulk of this year.

Brissett hasn’t exactly set the world on fire the last few weeks, highlighted by the Browns’ offense scoring 20 PTS or less in three of their last four contests, however, it’s tough to blame the quarterback when your defense is also surrendering 26.6 PPG on the other side of the ball.
