These offenses have been total disasters in the early stages of the season, as the Rams scored just 16.9 PPG across a 3-4 skid to immediately follow up last year’s impressive Super Bowl run, while the Buccaneers averaged a slightly better 18.3 PPG across an equally disappointing 3-5 skid to open.

Part of me still believes these squads are going to turn things around eventually, however, the Rams have now scored 20 PTS or less in five-of-seven seven matchups to kick off the season, while the Bucs have now scored 22 PTS or less in seven-of-eight contests to open, which doesn’t bode well heading into a matchup spearheaded by a pair of defenses that continue to pull their weight despite their overwhelming struggles on the offensive side of the script.

I’ll take the under here, as Tom Brady and Matt Stafford are both capable of lighting up the scoreboard for 30+ PTS on any given Sunday, however, I still feel comfortable betting against it after seeing the Bucs and Rams both score 20 PTS or less points in five contests already this season.

LOS ANGELES RAMS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Rams won the NFC West with a record of 12-5 last season, and ultimately went on to win the Super Bowl. However, the Rams were never the flashiest squad in the bunch, as their offense averaged 27 OPPG on 373 YPG, and defensively, they allowed 21.3 DPPG on 333 YPG, which is nothing to be ashamed of, but it doesn’t exactly scream title contender.

When healthy, Los Angeles is one of the most dangerous squads in the NFC, and in the grand scheme of things, Matt Stafford’s lingering elbow injury doesn’t concern me all that much. However, the injuries are starting to pile up for L. A.’s O-line, and it’s getting ugly quick, as the Rams have now scored 20 PTS or less in five-of-seven matchups this season (16.9 PPG), while turning the ball over 13 times and surrendering 24 sacks across those affairs.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Buccaneers won the NFC South with a record of 13-4 last season, which tied Green Bay for the top spot in the conference, marking Tampa Bay’s first division title since 2007 under head coach Jon Gruden and QB Jeff Garcia. However, the Bucs’ postseason journey came to a screeching halt with a heartbreaking 30-27 loss to the Rams in the Divisional Round.

The Bucs ultimately came up short against L. A. in last year’s playoffs, and they haven’t looked great so far season, but make no mistake, this is still one of the most dangerous squads in the league with Tom Brady at the helm, and they deservedly boast the fifth-best odds to win the NFC (+1000) and the best odds to win the NFC South (-135) despite averaging just 18.3 PPG across a 3-5 start to the season.
