The Buccaneers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 16-13 home win over the Rams last week, however, it wasn’t pretty, as Tom Brady and co. approached the midway point of the fourth quarter trailing L. A. by a score of 13-6. But some late game magic from Brady resulted in the Bucs escaping with a narrow victory on the heels of a Cade Otton touchdown catch with just nine seconds left in the contest.

The Seahawks, on the other hand, have racked up 32.3 PPG on 392 YPG across their latest 5-1 stretch, and it’s not like they’re beating up on a bunch of scrubs, as Geno Smith and co. posted tough wins over the Chargers, Giants, and Cardinals during that span.

I’ll back Seattle here, as Tampa Bay is probably the toughest defense the Seahawks have faced so far this season, however, it clearly doesn’t take much to outlast this Bucs’ squad that currently ranks 25^th in both scoring and yards per play (18 PPG, 5 YPP).

The Seahawks have been one of the most exciting squads to watch through the first half of the season, as Seattle opened with a surprisingly solid 6-3 run in the immediate aftermath of Russell Wilson’s departure, while ranking fourth in points scored and 23^rd in points allowed during that stretch (26.8 OPPG, 24.4 DPPG).

In the early stages of the year, Seattle’s brief flashes of success seemed unsustainable due to poor defense, as the Seahawks allowed a whopping 30.8 PPG on 430 YPG to their opponents across a modest 2-3 start to the season.

However, Seattle’s defense has really stepped up its game since Week 6, highlighted by the Seahawks entering Sunday having surrendered 21 PTS or less in three of their last four contests (16.4 PPG). And that level of defensive play is more than enough to support an offense that’s generated nearly 27 PPG this season.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Buccaneers won the NFC South with a record of 13-4 last season, which tied Green Bay for the top spot in the conference, and marked Tampa Bay’s first division title since 2007 under head coach Jon Gruden and QB Jeff Garcia. However, the Bucs’ postseason journey came to a screeching halt with a heartbreaking 30-27 loss to the Rams in the Divisional Round.

The Bucs ultimately came up short in last year’s playoffs, and they’ve looked pretty terrible so far season, but make no mistake, this is still one of the most dangerous squads in the league with Tom Brady at the helm, and they deservedly boast the fifth-best odds to win the NFC (+1000) and the best odds to win the NFC South (-280) despite scoring just 18 PPG across a bumpy 4-5 start to the season.
