NEW YORK JETS vs. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS BETTING PREDICTION

The Patriots stumbled out to a surprisingly slow start after posting a solid 10-7 campaign last season, as New England scored just 18.5 PPG and allowed 24.5 PPG across a frustrating 1-3 skid to open, which included a pair of losses by 9+ PTS to the Dolphins and Ravens.

However, the Patriots have completely flipped the script since their opening stretch, as Bill Belichick’s squad now enters Week 11 following wins in four of their last five games, while racking up 25.8 PPG allowing just 13.6 PPG across that window, which appears to be trending towards the 27.2 OPPG and 17.8 DPPG they averaged last season.

The Jets, on the other hand, have been a pleasant surprise through the first 10 weeks of the season, as New York barreled out to an impressive 6-3 start to the year, despite Zach Wilson and co. generating 20 PTS or less in over half of their matchups thus far.

The Patriots escaped with a 22-17 road victory in their first meeting with New York back in Week 8, which still would’ve cleared the number for this Sunday’s affair. So, I’ll ride with the over again here, as I think we’ll actually see a stronger offensive output in Round 2 between these teams, as the Pats have now scored 24+ PTS in five of their last seven games (25.7 PPG), and the Jets have averaged 24 PPG in their six contests started by QB Zach Wilson.

Score Prediction: Patriots 23, Jets 20
Best Bet: Over 38 (-110)

NEW YORK JETS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Jets finished dead last in the AFC East with a record of 4-13 last year, which tied the Giants for the third-worst mark in the league, with the only squads falling behind them in the regular season standings being the Lions and Jaguars.

The Jets showed flashes of brilliance during Wilson’s rookie campaign, as Robert Saleh’s squad pulled off tough upset victories over the Titans and Bengals early in the season. But they desperately lacked consistency on the offensive side of the ball, highlighted by their offense falling short of 20 PTS in nine games last year (18.2 PPG), which is a recipe for disaster when combined with a defense ranked dead last in both scoring and total yardage (29.6 PPG, 398 YPG).

However, they’ve completely flipped the script this season, as the Jets averaged 24 PPG across their six contests with Wilson under center (23.8 PPG), while defensively, ranking Top 10 in the league in both points allowed and yardage allowed per play (19.6 PPG, 4.8 YPP).

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Patriots’ offense played pretty well in Mac Jones’ rookie campaign under-center last year, as New England finished the year ranked seventh in points scored and tenth in yardage per play, which was impressive considering it was just their second season since the departure of longtime QB Tom Brady (26.6 PPG, 5.7 YPP).

However, New England’s identity has always resided with its defense under Belichick, and nothing has changed through the first half of this season, highlighted by the Patriots holding their opponent to 17 PTS or less in four of their last five games, which is typically more than enough weight to anchor their 14th ranked scoring offense (22.6 PPG).
