Cowboys Under 28.5 Points Scored

The Cowboys somewhat flew under the radar during the early stages of the season, as Dallas lost Dak Prescott to a thumb injury back in Week 1, and the rest of the sports world naturally zeroed in on Eagles and Giants storming out to red-hot starts to the year.

However, there’s nothing sneaky about their success anymore, as the Cowboys posted wins in four-of-five games with backup QB Cooper Rush under center. And they’ve played even better since the return of Prescott, highlighted by the Cowboys averaging a lofty 33.8 PPG across their subsequent 4-1 stretch.

I’ll back Dallas to score less than 28.5 points here, though, as the Cowboys’ recent offensive numbers are inflated by a pair of 40-point outbursts, as Prescott and co. currently rank seventh in the league in scoring at 25.4 PPG, despite generating 25 PTS or less in over half their contests this season. So, I think we’ll see them fall short of that number against a Colts defense that’s holding their opponents to an average 20.3 PPG this season.

Colts to Lose a Fumble

Indy’s offense has been terrible all season, and it’s only getting worse, as the Colts enter Sunday following scoring outputs of 17 PTS or less in seven of their last nine games (16.7 PPG), and they recently threw another wrench into the equation by replacing head coach Frank Reich with a very inexperienced Jeff Saturday prior to Week 10.

I’ll back the Colts to lose a fumble here, as this squad has struggled to protect the football all year, especially with Matt Ryan under center, highlighted by Indy’s offense leading the league in turnovers with 21 on the season, with 18 of those coming in matchups started by Ryan. And I think he’s due to let another one slip away after fumbling the ball a league-high 13 times across his ten starts.

Jonathan Taylor (IND) Over 79.5 Rushing Yards

Jonathan Taylor has posted surprisingly pedestrian numbers since finishing second in the Offensive Player of the Year voting last season, highlighted by Taylor rushing for 76 yards or less in five-of-nine outings so far this year.

However, things have changed drastically since Indy’s head-coaching switch, as Taylor has now rushed for 84+ yards on 20+ carries in three straight contests following the transition from Frank Reich to Jeff Saturday, while also finding the endzone in all three of those affairs.

So, I’ll back Taylor to have another solid night on the ground here, as the Colts probably won’t gain much traction against a Cowboys’ defense that’s allowing just 17 PPG on the season. But the little success they do find, will probably come through Taylor against a Dallas defensive front that currently ranks 25th in the league in yards allowed per rush attempt.
