TENNESSEE TITANS vs. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES BETTING PREDICTION

The Titans posted back-to-back 11-win campaigns prior to their solid 7-4 run to open this season, however, Mike Vrabel’s squad continues to be doubted week after week, as Tennessee previously entered the year with the second-best odds to win the AFC South behind the Colts. And now, they enter Week 13 as steep road underdogs against the Eagles.

Tennessee clearly isn’t a team to be reckoned with, though, as the Titans enter Sunday following wins in seven of their last nine games, while holding their opponent to 20 PTS or less in all seven of those affairs (17.3 PPG).

On the other hand, the Eagles have arguably been the best team in football through the first 12 weeks of the season, as Philly currently sits atop the NFC standings with a record of 10-1 on the year, while ranking Top 10 in the league in both points scored and allowed thus far. (27.5 OPPG, 19.6 DPPG).

However, Philly has struggled a little bit the last few weeks, especially on the offensive side of the ball, as the Eagles enter Sunday riding a relatively pedestrian 2-1 stretch, while generating 21 PTS or less in two of their last three contests.

So, I’ll take the under here, as Tennessee’s run-heavy/defensive style of play naturally breeds low-scoring contests, highlighted by the Titans scoring 19 PTS or less in five of their last six games, while defensively, also surrendering 17 PTS or less in six of their last eight games. And I expect that trend to continue against an Eagles squad that’s shown some weakness on the offensive side of the ball recently.

Score Prediction: Eagles 23, Titans 17
Best Bet: Under 44.5 (-110)

TENNESSEE TITANS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Titans stumbled out to a surprisingly poor start to the year, as Tennessee immediately followed up last year’s impressive 12-5 campaign with a pair of ugly losses to the Giants and Bills to kick off this season, while generating just 13.5 PPG on the offensive side of the ball in those two contests.

However, they’ve flipped the script through phenomenal defensive play, highlighted by the Titans allowing just 15.1 PPG across their latest 6-2 stretch, which includes a solid 1-1 split with backup QB Malik Willis under center in matchups against Houston and Kansas City.

This Titans squad isn’t built to stand toe-to-toe in a shootout if Philly has its way on the offensive side of the ball. However, if Tennessee can keep things in-check defensively, this could potentially be a nightmare matchup for the Birds with one of the worst rushing defenses in the league trying to stop an offense led by Derrick Henry.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES BETTING ANALYSIS

Philly’s defense was relatively pedestrian in DC Jonathan Gannon’s first campaign with the team, as the Eagles’ defense ranked 19th in scoring 10th in total yardage last season, which was good enough to keep them afloat most of the time, but not enough compete with the top squads like the Bills and Chiefs.

However, the Birds have played excellent on both sides of the script so far this year, highlighted by the Eagles’ defense allowing just 19.6 PPG and forcing a league-high 21 turnovers across an impressive 10-1 start to the season.

Which is exactly the type of dominance capable of elevating this squad to title contention if they continue scoring 27.5+ PPG on the offensive side of the ball. But we’ll just have to wait and see if they can return to that level of production after scoring 21 PTS or less in back-to-back matchups prior to their 40-point outburst against Green Bay last week.
