Week 9 of the NFL season will begin with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens visiting Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

Both of these teams enter play with only 2 wins through 8 weeks, but nobody should assume a competitive matchup here based on that fact alone.

Lamar Jackson is expected to return for the Ravens on Thursday following a 3-game absence. This season, Baltimore is averaging 32.8 points per game with Jackson active, but only 14.3 points per game in the team’s other 3 games. His return is a major boon for this offense—in a favorable matchup against one of the league’s worst defenses, no less.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins have defeated the 1-7 Jets and an injury-ravaged Falcons team this season. Miami has been reasonably competitive at home, with all of their games decided by one score, but there is a big difference between being competitive and winning football games in the NFL.

As always, it is worth noting that straight wagers are a far more profitable long-term betting strategy than parlays. Still, parlays can be a fun way to get some extra action on a game to make things interesting!Looking to get in on the action? Be sure to check out the latest bet365 promo code!

Derrick Henry to score a Touchdown (-200)

Derrick Henry found his way back into the end zone in Week 8 against the Bears, scoring twice on the ground. Henry’s overall numbers don’t look outstanding this fall, but he’s received all 10 goal line rushing attempts that have gone to the running back position for the Ravens through 8 weeks.

In 4 games with Jackson active this year, Baltimore is averaging 32.8 points per game. Facing a weak Miami defense, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Jackson and company hang another crooked number. If that’s the case, Henry is a good bet to have an opportunity to find pay dirt, at least once.

Lamar Jackson 50+ Rushing Yards (+230)

Lamar Jackson is expected to return from an extended absence to play against the Dolphins on Thursday. Given that he’s returning from a hamstring injury, the market seems to be of the mindset that he won’t be running wild in his first game action since September.

However, Jackson is someone who has historically been unwilling to play unless he’s at or very close to 100% health. That is not a dig at Jackson – it’s simply a note that he probably wouldn’t be on the field Thursday against Miami if he didn’t feel confident in his ability to play his normal game.

Jackson had 70 rushing yards in Week 1 and had 48 rushing yards before exiting early in Week 4 with an injury. This is great value on him to make an impact with his legs in this matchup.

Baltimore Ravens ML (-425)

Miami surprised a lot of people with a 34-10 upset victory over Atlanta on the road in Week 8, but there are a number of reasons not to make too much of that victory. Most importantly, the Falcons were besieged by injuries this past weekend. They were missing their starting quarterback, top wide receiver, starting slot cornerback, and one of their top pass rushers.

Backup Kirk Cousins offered zero threat with his legs, which allowed Miami’s defense to sell out against the run, taking away Atlanta’s only offensive strength. That won’t be the case on Thursday, with Lamar Jackson presenting a completely different challenge.

Both the Ravens and Dolphins have only 2 wins, but not all wins are created equally in the NFL. There is a reason that Baltimore is such a heavy favorite here.
