LATEST UPDATE: Spain is a +125 favorite on The SuperBook's three-way moneyline, as of 1:30 p.m. ET on game day, 90 minutes before the match starts. Argentina is +275 and Draw +205, with none of those prices shifting much over the past few days.

However, there is a popular side, to be sure.

"It's a very lopsided ticket count to Argentina, though it's a little closer on the three-way than on To Lift The Trophy," SuperBook vice president John Murray said. "And we took a $50,000 bet on Argentina in To Lift The Trophy."

Sportsbooks almost always want the Draw in these matches, getting them to overtime. Murray just wants a decision, whenever it comes.

"We've got a very good futures position for Spain. Ideally, we just want to see Spain win," he said. "If Spain wins, we'll have a really nice day, and it'll put a really nice bow on the tournament."

The SuperBook's total is actually at 2 (Over -140), while most other books are at some version of 2.5.

"There are more tickets on the Over, but we're not concerned about the total," Murray said.

THIRD UPDATE: As of 7 p.m. ET Saturday, 20 hours before kickoff, DraftKings Sportsbook has a three-way moneyline of Spain +125/Argentina +255/Draw +200. Those numbers semi-mimic Wednesday's opener of Spain +125/Argentina +275/Draw +195.

Underdog Argentina is taking 49% of early bets/59% of early money. Spain is at 32% of bets/33% of money, and Draw is at 19% of bets/8% of money.

Spain vs. Argentina odds in To Lift The Trophy at DK are at Spain -150/Argentina +130, after opening at Spain -164/Argentina +134. Argentina is landing 57% of bets/58% of money.

The total is at 2.5 (Under -155), after opening at 2.5 (Under -145). Still, the public is on the Over, per usual, with 73% of bets and money hoping for three or more goals Sunday.

SECOND UPDATE: After 20 or so hours of action so far, BetMGM's three-way moneyline is at Spain +130/Argentina +240/Draw +200, as of 1:30 p.m. ET Thursday. That's a modest adjustment from Wednesday's opener of Spain +125/Argentina +250/Draw +200.

After its stirring comeback vs. England, Argentina is the popular play early, taking 58% of bets/59% of money in three-way action. Spain is netting 36% of bets/38% of money, and Draw is picking up the scraps at 6% of bets/3% of money.

In BetMGM's To Lift The Trophy market – which now ostensibly serves as World Cup futures odds – Spain vs. Argentina odds are at Spain -165/Argentina +120. Lionel Messi & Co. are taking 66% of early bets, but money is running much closer, at 54% on Argentina.

"Draw will be a great result. But for our futures market, Argentina is the lesser of two evils," BetMGM trading manager Adair Horne said.

BetMGM's total is at 2.5 (Under -165), matching Wednesday's opener. But no surprise, it's heavy Over action early, at 82% of bets/74% of money.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Defending World Cup champion Argentina was up against the wall, until it wasn't. Argentina trailed 1-0 through 84 minutes, then scored in the next eight minutes to post a stunning 2-1 victory as a +200 underdog Wednesday.

After a scoreless first half, Anthony Gordon's 55th-minute strike put England up 1-0. But Argentinian onslaught from that point forward was too much for the English to overcome.

Enzo Fernandez broke through in the 85th minute, and Lautaro Martinez delivered the dagger two minutes into second-half injury time.

In Tuesday's opening semifinal, Spain was a modest underdog against France, which had been the favorite in World Cup futures odds throughout the tournament. But the Spanish side expertly shut down Kylian Mbappe & Co. in a 2-0 victory as a +200 pup.

Spain netted a goal in each half, from Mikel Oyarzabal in the 22nd minute and Pedro Porro in the 58th minute. Spain has allowed just one goal the entire tournament, in a 2-1 quarterfinal win over Belgium.

Immediately after Lionel Messi & Co. escaped, DraftKings Sportsbook opened Spain vs. Argentina odds at Spain +125/Argentina +275/Draw +195 on the three-way moneyline. Within minutes Wednesday evening, those numbers adjusted to Spain +125/Argentina +260/Draw +200.

In the To Lift The Trophy market, DK opened at Spain -164/Argentina +134. As of 5:30 p.m. ET Wednesday, 20 minutes after posting, the numbers moved to Spain -160/Argentina +125.

The total in Spain vs. Argentina odds opened at 2.5 (Under -145), with oddsmakers expecting a low-scoring final.
