Charleston vs Alabama Prediction

Two teams will venture from the Southeast to the Pacific Northwest for the third tip-off in Spokane on Friday.

Alabama had high expectations to make the Final Four last season before getting knocked off in the Sweet 16 by eventual National Runner-up San Diego State.

If there's one thing Nate Oats' do well in the tournament, it's blow teams out. In his six-career tournament wins as head coach at Buffalo and Alabama, the margin of victory has been 13 points or more each time.

Charleston won the CAA title for the second straight season, as the Cougars held their own in a 6-point loss to San Diego State in the opening round in 2023.

Both these teams are high-tempo (Alabama 11th and Charleston 59th) and will fire away all night long. The Cougars are riding a 12-game winning streak, but there are no signature victories on the schedule as the CAA was the 19th-ranked conference according to KenPom out of 33 leagues.

Considering the expectations for the Tide last season and they came up short, Alabama's offense has the potential to score 90 points on anyone and they could do against Charleston.
