Three of the top teams in the nation highlight Big Monday on ESPN with a trio of matchups in the ACC and Big 12.

Kicking things off, the North Carolina Tar Heels head south to Tallahassee to tangle with the No. 5 Florida State Seminoles. Later that night, the No. 1 Baylor Bears will be on the road against the Kansas State Wildcats. At the same time, the Texas Longhorns will be in Lawrence to face off against the No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks.

Betting Matchup

In a down season with a straight-up record of 10-11, the Tar Heels are coming off Saturday’s 71-70 home loss to Boston College as heavy 12-point favorites. They are 3-7 SU in ACC play with a 4-6 record against the spread. The total ended as a PUSH on 141 points in Saturday’s loss after going OVER in six of their previous eight games. North Carolina is averaging 71.5 points per game and allowing 70.8 points on defense.

Freshman Cole Anthony returned to the lineup against BC after a two-month absence and scored 26 points.

Florida State (8-2 SU) is a game and a half behind Louisville for the top spot in the conference. The Seminoles got past Virginia Tech 74-63 on Saturday as three-point road favorites. This was their 11th SU win in their last 12 games. The only loss was against Virginia on the road to close out January. They are 18-3 SU overall with a 10-11 record ATS. The total has gone OVER in six of their last seven games.

Devin Vassell was a perfect 7-for-7 from three point range as part of his 27 points against Virginia Tech.

Betting Matchup

The Bears continued to roll on Saturday with a 68-52 victory against TCU as 11 ½-point home favorites. They have won their last 18 games SU while covering in eight of their last nine contests. Baylor (19-1 SU, 14-6 ATS) is now 8-0 in Big 12 play. The total has stayed UNDER in seven of the last nine games behind a defense that is ranked fifth in the nation in points allowed (58.0).

MaCio Teague scored 19 points with five three-point buckets in Saturday’s win.

Kansas State (9-12 SU and ATS) has two SU wins in conference play against six losses. It is an even 4-4 ATS in those eight games. The Wildcats came up short against West Virginia on Saturday in a 66-57 loss as 13 ½-point road underdogs. Senior forward Xavier Sneed is the team’s leading scorer with 14.4 PPG. He had 11 points in 33 minutes of play against the Mountaineers.

Guard Cartier Diarra is the other Wildcat in double figures (12.8 points) on the year.

Betting Matchup

Texas has won its last two games (SU and ATS) with a one-point road victory against TCU as a four-point underdog followed by Saturday’s 72-68 home victory against Iowa State as a three-point favorite. The Longhorns are an even 4-4 SU in conference play and 14-7 overall. They have gone 4-10 ATS over their last 14 games. There are five different players averaging at least 10 points a game as part of their 66.2-point scoring average.

Kansas (18-3 SU, 12-9 ATS) is still one game in back of Baylor for first place in the Big 12 at 7-1 SU (5-3 ATS). One of those victories came against Texas on Jan. 18. The Jayhawks beat the Longhorns 66-57 to cover as 7 ½-point road favorites. The total has stayed UNDER in six of their eight conference games.

Devon Dotson scored 21 points in Saturday’s tight 78-75 home victory against Texas Tech. The sophomore guard is averaging 18.1 PPG.
