Two of the best teams in the ACC highlight Big Monday on ESPN’s college basketball schedule along with the top team in the nation playing on the road in the Big 12.

Kicking things off, the No. 8 Florida State Seminoles will be on the road against the No. 7 Duke Blue Devils. Later Monday night, the No. 1 Baylor Bears will travel to Austin to face the Texas Longhorns.

Betting Matchup

The Seminoles moved to 10-2 straight-up in the ACC and 21-3 overall with Saturday’s 99-81 romp over rival Miami as 13 ½-point favorites at home. This was just the second time they covered against the spread in their last seven games and the total has gone OVER in seven of their last nine contests. MJ Walker and Patrick Williams each ended Saturday’s game with 14 points.

Sophomore guard Devin Vassell is Florida State’s leading scorer this season (13.5 points) and he added 13 points to the winning cause.

Duke is coming off a thrilling 98-96 overtime win at North Carolina but it failed to cover as a 7 ½-point favorite. The Blue Devils (20-3 SU) are tied with Florida State in the conference standings at 10-2 and a game and a half in back of Louisville. They have also slipped to 2-5 ATS over their last seven contests. The total went way OVER 148 ½ points in Saturday’s win and it has gone OVER in eight of their last 10 games.

Freshman center Vernon Carey Jr. scored 18 points against the Tar Heels as Duke’s leading scorer this season (17.8 points). He has put up 17 or more points in each of his last four starts.

Betting Matchup

With Saturday’s 78-70 home victory against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the top team in the nation extended its current SU winning streak to 20 games. The Bears (21-1 SU, 14-8 ATS) could not cover the 12 ½ points in that game to slip to an even 3-3 ATS in their last six games. The total has gone OVER in three of their last five contests. Baylor already beat Texas 59-44 in early January as an 8 ½-point home favorite.

In Saturday’s win against the Cowboys, five different players ended the game in double figures led by MaCio Teague’s 24 points.

Texas is headed in the opposite direction at the wrong time of the season with just two SU wins in its last seven games. It is 4-6 SU in Big 12 play and 14-9 overall. The Longhorns were on the wrong side of Saturday’s 62-57 loss to Texas Tech at home as 2 ½-point underdogs. They are 4-5 ATS this season closing as underdogs.

The total has stayed UNDER in five of their last seven games. Texas is averaging 65.5 points per game and giving up 63.8 points on defense.
