Monday’s NCAA Basketball Tip Sheet for Feb. 24, ACC and Big 12 Best Bets

Big Monday on ESPN offers up a pair of matchups in the ACC and Big 12 featuring a trio of nationally ranked teams.

The early game pits the No. 11 Louisville Cardinals against the No. 8 Florida State Seminoles in Tallahassee. Later that night, the Oklahoma State Cowboys will be on the road against the No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks.

Louisville remained in first place in the ACC standings by half a game after hammering North Carolina 72-55 on Saturday as a 10 ½-point home favorite. The Cardinals are 14-3 straight-up in conference play and 23-5 overall. This was just their second cover in their last six games at 2-3-1 against the spread. The total stayed UNDER 145 ½ points in that win after going OVER in eight of their previous 11 games.

Jordan Nwora scored 18 points against the Tar Heels to lead the way. The junior forward leads Louisville in scoring with an average of 18.2 points per game.

With Saturday’s 67-61 road victory against North Carolina State as 1 ½-point favorites, the Seminoles (23-4 SU, 14-13 ATS) stayed just a half game off the pace in the ACC at 13-3 SU. The Cowboys have strung together four SU wins in their last six games with Saturday’s 83-66 rout over rival Oklahoma as slight 1 ½-point home favorites. They have also covered ATS in five of those six contests. The total has gone OVER or ended as a PUSH in four of the last six games. Oklahoma State is 4-10 in Big 12 play as part of an overall SU record of 14-13 (12-15 ATS).

Cameron McGriff came up big in Saturday’s win with a career-high 28 points. The senior forward is the Cowboys’ leading scorer this season with 11.4 points along with 6.8 rebounds a game.

Kansas is flying high after knocking off then- No. 1 Baylor 64-61 on Saturday as a slight 1 ½-point road underdog. The Jayhawks should take over the top spot in the national polls at 24-3 SU. They are now tied with Baylor at 13-1 for the top spot in the Big 12. Their SU winning streak stands at 12 games and they have covered in their last five outings. The total has stayed UNDER in four of their last six contests.

Center Udoka Azubuike came up big in Saturday’s victory with 23 points and 19 rebounds. The senior is one of four Jayhawks averaging at least 10 points a game this year.
