Oklahoma has strung together three straight-up wins with Saturday’s seven-point win against Kansas as a slight one-point home underdog. The Sooners have been able to cover against the spread in six of their first seven Big 12 games this season. The total has stayed UNDER in five of those seven contests.

Over the past nine meetings in this heated rivalry, Oklahoma is 3-6 SU. It has failed to cover ATS in four of the last six matchups.

Texas is 5-1 SU in conference play with a 2-4 record ATS. It has been idle since Jan. 16 after beating Kansas State by 15 points as a 17-point home favorite. The total has gone OVER in the last six outings.

The Longhorns are 12-3 SU in their last 15 games against Oklahoma with the total staying UNDER five of the last seven games between the two.

In Saturday’s upset over Kansas, De’Vion Harmon had the hot hand with 22 points. The sophomore guard has eclipsed his 12.8-point scoring average in each of his last three starts.Guard Austin Reaves remains the Sooners’ leading scorer this season with 15.2 points per game but he is hitting just 23.1% of his shots from three-point range. Forward Brady Manek is also in double figures with 11.8 PPG.

Oklahoma is averaging 77.5 points and pulling down 37.1 rebounds a game. It is shooting 44.9% from the field and 34.6% from three-point range.

Defensively, the Sooners are pulling down 35 rebounds while holding opposing teams to 66.9 PPG. This has dropped to just 54.7 points during the current three-game winning streak.

  • ATS: 6-7

Texas comes into Tuesday’s matchup well rested but forward Greg Brown remains listed as questionable on the latest injury report. He is one of four players averaging at least 12 PPG.

Guard Andrew Jones tops that list with a 14.4-point scoring average followed closely by guard Courtney Ramey with 13.9 PPG. Guard Matt Coleman III is another key contributor with 13.2 points a night.

It all adds up to a team scoring average of 76.2 PPG while shooting 45.4% from the field. Ramey is the team’s top shooter from three-point range at 44.6% but the team average dips to 35.1.

The Longhorns have been one of the top rebounding teams in the Big 12 with 40.2 a game. Most of those are on the defensive end of the court (35.1) while giving up an average of 65.2 PPG.

Oklahoma-Texas Predictions

Texas may have the overall edge in this series but Oklahoma is in excellent position to keep things close on Tuesday night. The Sooners have momentum as compared to some possible rust in the Longhorns’ lineup.

Oklahoma has also been highly profitable ATS in conference play this season as another edge in this game. Texas may still get the SU win but I'm taking the points in this one.

I would also lean towards the UNDER when betting the total line. Each team should get close to its season scoring average, but I really like the way Oklahoma is playing defense as of late.

  • Score Prediction: Texas 71 Oklahoma 69
  • Best Bets: Oklahoma +5
  • Best Bets: UNDER
