Wyoming Cowboys vs. Colorado State Rams Predictions

After a failed trip to New Mexico last Tuesday, losing 75-66 at The Pit, the Cowboys returned to Laramie and rebounded with a 75-67 win over Air Force. The Cowboys failed to cover for the second consecutive outing, however, after an impressive 4-0-1 ATS run from Jan. 31-Feb. 12. That solid run started with an 84-78 overtime victory over Colorado State on Jan. 31 at home.

Colorado State had won five games in a row heading into a conference tilt at UNLV, but the Rams were dusted 72-51 by the Runnin' Rebels in Vegas, and at no point in that game were they covering a five-point number. UNLV was all over them from the jump. Colorado State shot just 35% (18-of-52) from the field, including an absolutely atrocious 23% (5-of-22) from downtown. The good news is that the Rams turned it over just seven times, but the bad news is that the Runnin' Rebels outrebounded CSU at a 41-to-22 clip.

Wyoming Cowboys Betting Analysis

  • SU 22-4
  • ATS 14-9-2
  • OU 12-12-1

The Cowboys have failed to cover in each of the past two games. The last time Wyoming had three or more non-covers in a row was Jan. 4-16, 2021 last season.

Wyoming has been a good bet more often than not this season, going 20-9-2 ATS in the past 31 games overall. They're especially dependable against the number when on the road, going 28-10 ATS in the past 38 games on the road. The Cowboys are also 21-8-1 ATS in the past 30 games against teams with a winning overall record.

As far as the totals, Wyoming has cashed the UNDER in each of the past seven games away from home. And while the UNDER is 6-0 in the past six road games against teams with a winning home record, the OVER is 8-2 in the past 10 games against winning teams, and 21-6-1 in the past 28 following a non-cover.

Colorado State Rams Betting Analysis

  • SU 21-4
  • ATS 13-11
  • OU 9-15

The Rams lost in Laramie, as the Cowboys cashed as 1.5-point underdogs at home. Wyoming has won just two of the past seven meetings in this series, but Colorado State has covered just two times in the previous six meetings. The lean is to the OVER, going 4-2 in the past in the series.

Colorado State has hit against the number in four of the past five games overall, but they really missed badly in Vegas last time out. The Rams are 0-4-1 ATS in the past five following a SU loss, and 1-3-1 ATS in the past five games at home against teams with a winning road record, too. Overall, Colorado State is 2-5 ATS in the past seven at home.

For totals, the trends mostly point to the UNDER for CSU. The UNDER is 13-5 in the past 18 games overall, while cashing the UNDER in eight of the past 10 games at home. The UNDER is also 5-2 in the past seven after a SU loss, and 6-2 in the past eight after a non-cover. However, the OVER is 5-2 in the past seven against teams with a winning overall mark.

Wyoming Cowboys vs. Colorado State Rams Conclusion

The pick easily would have been Colorado State, but the ugly and inexplicable loss in Vegas is reason for serious pause. Wyoming has just one such blowout loss back in December in Arizona when the team was just finding themselves. In three losses since, the margin of defeat is just 4.0 PPG, and Wyoming has been super consistent. They haven't had any recent ugly showings, and it's not about to start now.

Wyoming won an ultra-close game at home against Colorado State in overtime in the first meeting, and it wouldn't be shocking to see this one decided in the final minute again. The Cowboys have just been more consistent, and Ike and Maldonado are healthy and should be able to lead the road victory.
