WORLD SERIES HISTORY

The World Series is the pro baseball championship of Major League Baseball. The game pits the winner of the American League versus the National League. The World Series begins in late October as the two teams square off in a best-of-seven series.

The Atlanta Braves won the 2021 World Series, earning their first championship since 1995 as they held off the Houston Astros in six games.

It marks the third straight season that a team from the National League has captured the World Series title with the Los Angeles Dodgers winning it all in 2020 and the Washington Nationals taking the championship in 2019.
