Game 3 of the NLDS sees the San Francisco Giants visit the Los Angeles Dodgers after dropping Game 2 to allow the Dodgers to tie the series at 1-1. Opening pitch is set for 9:37 p.m. ET and will air on TBS from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Game 3 Predictions

The Los Angeles Dodgers have home field advantage over the best team in baseball after winning Game 2 on Saturday night. The Dodgers hammered the San Francisco Giants 9-2, breaking the game open in the sixth inning. Everyone but Justin Turner got in on the action, while five of the Giants six hits came from two players.

Max Scherzer has not lost a start since July 8 when he was still with the Washington Nationals. The Dodgers have won all 12 games Scherzer has started since acquiring him at the trade deadline, leading to this team being a sizable favorite in Game 3 on Monday night. That gives underdog bettors extra value with the Giants.

The Giants have only lost back-to-back games once in the last six weeks. San Francisco was the best team in the regular season for most of the year, so it will take a lot to beat them again in Game 3.

San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Game 3 Betting Analysis

Alex Wood will come to the mound for the Giants on Monday night. Wood was solid during the regular season, posting a 10-4 record with a 1.18 WHIP and a 3.83 ERA.

He struggled against the Dodgers during the regular season though, carrying a 4.76 ERA in three starts. Wood allowed 14 home runs in 138.2 innings during the regular season, and the Dodgers were responsible for five of those dingers.

Buster Posey is continuing his strong play in the postseason. Posey has four hits through the first two games of this series, cranking a home run and a double to lead the Giants in OPS. He is now hitting over .300 in more than 200 postseason at-bats.

Mid-season acquisition Kris Bryant is thriving in the Bay Area. Bryant already has three hits this postseason, picking up his game after a simply decent 52 games with the Giants in the regular season.

The other hitter to watch is Brandon Crawford. Crawford also has three hits through two games, and he has a home run to his credit too.

It’s hard to overstate just how good Max Scherzer has been since joining the Dodgers a little more than two months ago. Scherzer went 7-0 in the regular season with a 0.82 WHIP, a 1.98 ERA, and an 11.1 K/BB. He wasn’t at his best in the one-game playoff against St. Louis though, allowing six base runners in 4.1 innings.

Scherzer has yet to really “face” the Giants this season. He started against San Francisco while with Washington back in June, but he left the game after the first at-bat with a groin injury.

The Dodgers have a bevy of talented players in this lineup. Mookie Betts has been the top performer with five hits through three games, but all five of those hits have been singles. He has tested opposing catchers with his base stealing ability though.

Cody Bellinger is still struggling, but he is doing what he can for his team. Bellinger hit a double to drive in two runs and knock Kevin Gausman out of Game 2 on Saturday. He already has two stolen bases too, but his six strikeouts have made him a boom or bust bat.

Middle infielders Trea Turner and Corey Seager were supposed to play a major part in the Dodgers’ lineup, but they have been largely held in check through three games. They have combined for five hits and seven strikeouts, and we have yet to see Turner steal a base.
