Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants Betting Predictions

Colorado enters this matchup tied with the Giants for third place in the NL West. The Rockies are coming off a three-game road series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, losing two of the three games. The offense couldn’t get much going, with just five runs scored throughout the series. The bullpen was not to blame as they gave up a respectable nine runs over the three games. Left-handed pitcher Austin Gomber is expected to take the mound Monay. Gomber is 2-2 in five games this season with an ERA of 3.58 and has given up 26 hits, 11 earned runs, and struck out 26 batters in 27.2 innings of work.

The Giants are coming off a four-game home series with St. Louis, splitting the series two games apiece. The Giants offense has not hit the ball well over their last 10 games, but may have finally found their stride with 17 runs scored in their last two games. The bullpen has struggled as of late, allowing 43 runs over their last seven games. The left-hander Carlos Rodon is scheduled to get the start on Monday. Rodon is 3-1 in five games this season with an ERA of 1.55 and has given up 14 hits, five earned runs, and struck out 41 batters in 29.0 innings.

The Rockies have had a strong start to their season, but this will be no easy matchup going up against Carlos Rodon who has been the Giants best pitcher thus far. San Francisco may finally have their bats back after scoring 17 runs in their last two games. Assuming that’s the case, the Giants should be able to put up some runs in this one. Backing the over here until we get a better feel for how these teams' matchup.

Center Fielder Randal Grichuk is also having a nice season with a batting average of .294 (25-85), four home runs, and 16 RBIs.

San Francisco Giants Betting Analysis

After winning back-to-back game against St. Louis, the Giants are 16-12 SU, 13-15 ATS, and have an O/U record of 13-14-1. The total has gone over in six of San Francisco’s last nine games. Going against this trend, the total has gone under in four of their last five games against the Rockies. The Giants are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games when playing at home against Colorado.

San Francisco’s offense has been in a bit of a slump as of late, but have managed 17 runs over their last two games. As a team the Giants have a batting average of .237 (12th), on base percentage of .318 (9th), slugging percentage of .374 (15th), and have scored 131 runs (6th). The second baseman Wilmer Flores has had solid production with a batting average of .271 (26-96), three home runs, and 19 RBIs. Left fielder Joc Pederson is having a nice season as well, with a batting average of .261 (18-69), six home runs, and 10 RBIs.

Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants Betting Conclusion

I like the total to go over in this one. The Rockies have been one of the best hitting teams in baseball and the Giants bats may finally be back after their recent series with St. Louis. I would lean towards the Giants to win this one SU, but do not see much value in the Moneyline at –240. Backing the over 6.5 runs in this matchup.
