Wilson Contreras (CHC) Over 1.5 Total Bases (+115)

Contreras is one of those guys that’s been very dependable to me. The Cubs catcher has been one of the most talked about trade assets in baseball, and not only is he playing for the Cubs right now, but he’s also “trying out” for a number of tittle contenders looking to add a reliable catcher. Today we find Conteras in a great matchup against Lefty Rich Hill. Willson has had success against left handed pitching this season, batting .339, but his slugging has been even more impressive. In 59 plate appearances against left handed pitching, he had 6 HR’s & 14 XBH’s, in 159 plate appearances against right handed pitching, he has 16 XBH’s & 7 HR’s. I almost 1/3 of the plate appearances, he has almost an equal amount of XBH’s. Additionally, he’s 4-10 in his career against Rich Hill, and is batting .381/.329 agonist his top 2 pitches (curveball/4Seamer).

Garrett Cooper (MIA) Over 0.5 Hits / Paul Goldschmidt (STL) Over 0.5 Hits (+113)

Garrett Cooper has been one of the most underrated hitters in baseball this season, staying extremely consistent. Cooper is currently 5-8 against Josiah Gray this season, and is clearly seeing him well considering this will be the fourth time Gray faces the Marlins before the all-star break this year. Cooper is batting .315 on the season (12th) but is coming off of his best month of the season hitting .376 in June. Cooper doesn’t have much trouble against RHP batting .326 this season, I think he continues his success.

What more is there to say about Paul Goldschmidt this season, the current MVP frontrunner. Goldy is batting .342 on the season, but an insane .442 against left handed pitching. While he’s never faced the Phillies pitcher, he’s hitting .304/.333 against his top 2 pitches (fastball/slider), and should grab another hit against the lefty today.
