Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Prediction

Prior to the conclusion of game-one on Monday night, the Colorado Rockies enter this matchup last in the NL West standings, 14 and a half games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place. The Rockies most recently went 2-1 SU in a three-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks and are 5-5 SU over their last 10 games. The Rockies offense looked great against Arizona with 20 runs scored throughout the series. Colorado’s offense has been solid on the season, averaging 4.5 runs per game (13th) and are tied for the best batting average in the league (.261).  Their bullpen struggled against the Diamondbacks, allowing a combined 22 runs. This has been a common theme for Colorado’s bullpen who has a team ERA of 4.96 (28th). Right-handed pitcher German Marquez (4-6) is scheduled to take the mound Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently first in the NL West standings with a three and a half game lead over the second place San Diego Padres. The Dodgers went 3-1 SU in their most recent series against the Padres and have won six of their last 10 games. The Dodgers were great against the Padres, scoring 17 runs throughout the series while holding San Diego to just eight runs. This is nothing new for a Dodgers team that has been dominating opponents. Their offense ranks second in runs per game (4.97), first in on base percentage (.328), and fourth in slugging percentage (.430). Los Angeles’ bullpen ranks third in team ERA (2.94), second in WHIP (1.10), and third in batting average allowed (.220). The right-hander Mitch White is expected to start on Tuesday.

The Rockies are 4-2 SU against the Dodgers this season. They have pitched well in most all those games, which comes a surprise considering they have a team ERA of 4.96. However, German Marquez will take the mound for the Rockies and struggled in his most recent start against the Dodgers, giving up five hits and five runs in just 3.1 innings of work. There is defiantly value in the Rockies moneyline with how well they have played the Dodgers, but I think the safe play is Dodgers runline with Marquez taking the mound for Colorado.

Germán Márquez is on the hill for the Rockies in this contest as he makes his 15th start of the season hoping to build some positive momentum. He comes in 4-6 with a 5.89 ERA, a 1.54 WHIP, 32 walks and 70 strikeouts over 84 innings of work this season. The 27-year-old right-hander couldn’t lift the Rockies to a home win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 29, 2022. Pitching on the road this season, Márquez is 3-3 with a 4.21 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, 17 walks and 25 strikeouts over 36.1 innings in six starts.

Los Angeles: Mitch White (1-1, 3.93 ERA)

Los Angeles' Mitch White toes the rubber for his sixth start of the season as he looks to improve on a 1-1 mark and 3.93 ERA. The right-hander has put together a 1.19 WHIP to go along with 33 strikeouts and 11 walks in 34.1 innings of work. White received a no-decision in his most recent start against San Diego Padres, as Los Angeles’s right-hander surrendered one run on six hits, one walk, and three strikeouts during the Dodgers’ 3-1 home loss on June 30, 2022. In his two home starts this season, White is 1-1 with a 5.02 ERA, a 1.53 WHIP, six walks and 18 strikeouts over 14.1 innings of work.
