Max Scherzer (NYM) To Record a Win (-125)

This number feels flat out wrong. The Mets are coming into DC, 23 hours before the trade deadline, with a 64-37 record (29 games better than the last place Washington Nationals). Patrick Corbin has been an absolute dumpster fire since the start of last season, highlighted by being pulled from a game in the first inning for the first time in his career last game. Not only does Corbin go against a Mets lineup with great history against him, but he also now needs to out-duel former Nationals ace Max Scherzer. Mad Max has been dominant since returning from the injured list, only allowed 5 earned runs in 32.1 innings pitched. We have one of the best pitchers in baseball to record a win against one of the worst, -125 is a good price.

DJ LeMahieu (NYY) Over 0.5 Hits / Jose Altuve (HOU) Over 0.5 Hits (-118)

DJ Lemahieu might be my favorite hitter to bet on this season. Despite playing for the biggest market in baseball, the lack of power/flashiness really seems to leave LeMahieu constantly overlooked. With a .285 average on the season, DJ has really turned things up in July hitting .344. I don't expect this to regress much in August because the underlying numbers have been there all season, with LeMahieu ranking 93rd percentile in batting average this season. He’s hitting .301 vs left handed pitching this season and is 2-6 in his career vs Marco Gonzalez.

Altuve is coming into this game with some good recent form since the All-Star break, and has seen Eovaldi plenty of times. In his career, he's 8-30 vs Eovaldi, but over his last 10 PA’s he has 5 XBH, looks like that film room time is starting to catch up. Altuve has been great at home this season, batting .325 with 1+ hit in 12 of his last 14 at home. Altuve finished July batting .295, and with some good recent form I expect him to take care of a struggling Red Sox team. Evoladi has struggled since coming back from injury, with the threat of a trade looming over his head, he could be in for some extra pressure on the mound today.
