Christian Yelich (MIL)/Mookie Betts (LAD) Over 1.5 Hits (-107)
Christian Yelich is one of those guys that’s taken a lot of slack over the last couple months, but is finally starting to turn things around. Since coming back from the All-Star break, Yelich is batting .357, currently working on an 11 game hit streak. Yelich has a great approach at the plate, he’s not trying to do to much and is putting the ball in play in all parts of the field. The Pirates are pitching what is likely to be a bullpen game, and while Yelich only may get 1 AB vs Beede, seeing he’s 2-4 with 1 HR is definitely a good sign. He currently has 2+ hits in 5 of his last 6 games, he should be able to take care of business against the Pirates.
Picking between Dodgers sluggers like Betts/Turner/Freeman can be challenging, but I think Mookie Betts presents a good opportunity today. Since coming back from the All-Star break he finally looks more comfortable, pulling together some good performances. Betts is batting .304 vs San Fransico this season, and just recorded 3 hits in the first game of their series. He’s coming in batting .270 on the season/.323 L7 with 1+ hit in 13 of his last 15 games. He’s faced Cobb plenty of times, going 10/30 with 5 XBH & .410 xBA, anyone with that kind of experience against a pitcher should be on your radar.
