Nick Castellanos (PHI) Over 0.5 Hits / Jose Abreu (CWS) Over 0.5 Hits (+101)

I can't believe I’m going back to Jose Abreu, but he is once again in another good spot. Abreu has won me a lot of money this season, but then also turned his back and gave it right away, hopefully we can put aside our differences and cash some tickets today. Abreu is coming into this game with some good recent form, batting .301 over his last 15 games with 3 multi hit games over his last 6. Abreu finds himself in a very good matchup today against the Astros young starter Jose Uruiqidy.

The thing about Urquidy this season is that he’s been absolutely lights out at home with a 2.86 ERA and .217 OBA, but that dramatically increases on the road to 4.83 and .271. He’s also been much better against left-handed batters then right, with an .218 OBA vs left handed hitters and .270 vs right. For those reasons, all the stars align for the White Sox most consistent right handed hitter (with Anderson out of the lineup) to continue his hot streak. Abreu is 1-3 in his career vs Urquidy with an xBA of .309/.278/.317 vs his top 3 pitches (vs RHH).

Nick Castellanos hasnt had the easiest season in Philadelphia this season. He hasn't been playing up to that contract he was paid, and the home fans have definitely let him know at times. The good news is that he’s batting .333 over his last 15 games, with 1+ hit in 14 of his last 18 games. He has a good history against Mike Minor, batting 4-11 with 2 HR’s when they last faced a couple years back. Since then, Mike Minor is pitching to a 6.24 ERA with a .306 OBA vs RHH.

Castellanos has really not been great this season, but his splits are favorite in this spot. Despite the .254 batting average, he’s crushing lefties batting .311 this season, he’s also been better on the road hitting .274 away from those annoying Phillies fans. This is some of the best recent form he’s had all season, and now gets a great matchup against a lefty he’s had success against before.
