  • Opening point spread: Eagles -7
  • Opening moneyline: Eagles -360/Vikings +280
  • Opening total: Over/Under 48 points scored
  • Time: 8:15 p.m. ET Thursday (Prime)

UPDATE 5 P.M. ET THURSDAY: With kickoff about three hours out, Philly is down to a 6-point chalk at PointsBet, a Fanatics Experience. The Eagles opened -7 on Sunday and initially went to -7.5. But since then, the number has mostly toggled between Eagles -6.5 and -6.

That said, spread tickets are running 2/1 and spread money almost 4/1 on Philadelphia.

"Much of the [movement] on the spread stems from the struggles of Philly against New England," PointsBet trader Ethan Useloff said.

Useloff specifically noted the Eagles' 30.7% third-down conversion rate in Week 1 vs. the Patriots. Further, Philadelphia is shorthanded on this short week. Running back Kenneth Gainwell (ribs) is out, and on defense, the Eagles are down tackle Fletcher Cox (ribs), cornerback James Bradberry (concussion) and safety Reed Blankenship (ribs).

The total opened at 48, peaked at 50 early this afternoon and is now at 49. It's two-way action at PointsBet, with ticket count almost even and 59% of money on the Over.

UPDATE 4 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: A day before the first game in the NFL odds Week 2 market, TwinSpires Sportsbook is down to Eagles -6. That's after opening Philly -7 and spending time at -6.5.

Early spread ticket count is 2/1 on the Eagles, but spread money is almost dead even.

"Sharp play on the Vikes +7," TwinSpires director of retail sports Zachary Lucas said.

The total is up a tick from 48.5 to 49, with tickets almost 2/1 and money almost 3/1 on the Over.

UPDATE 10 P.M. ET SUNDAY: Philadelphia (1-0 SU and ATS) let most of an early 16-0 lead slip away against New England in Week 1. But the Eagles regrouped to get the win and cover, 25-20 as 3.5-point road favorites.

Minnesota wasn't as fortunate against Tampa Bay. The Vikings (0-1 SU and ATS) tumbled 20-17 laying 4 points at home.

Perhaps with that in mind, bettors have already pushed the Eagles from Eagles -7 to -7.5 for Thursday Night Football. The total is also up a half-point to 48.5.

"We've taken a bet to get us to 7.5," SuperBook risk supervisor Chase Michaelson said. "With the popularity of the Eagles and the narrative of Kirk Cousins' struggles in prime time – as we saw when these teams played last season – I imagine we will need Minnesota."

Last year, also in Week 2, the Eagles were 2.5-point home favorites and rolled 24-7.
