The Packers pretty much sleepwalked through the first half of the season, as Aaron Rodgers and co. opened the year with losses in six-of-nine contests out of the gate, while averaging just 17.1 PPG on the offensive side of the ball during that timeframe.

However, Green Bay has finally shown some signs of life as of late, considering the Packers are now 3-2 in their last five games, and the most encouraging part of their latest stretch is the fact their offense generated 24+ points in four of those contests.

While on the other hand, Miami has been on quite the rollercoaster throughout the season, and the ups and downs of this ride seem to steepen each week, most recently highlighted by the Dolphins following up an impressive five-game win streak in Weeks 7 through 12 with losses in three straight contests.

So, after entering Week 13 with their aims set on the top seed in the conference boasting a record of 8-3 with just six games left to play, the Dolphins now teeter on the edge of the playoff picture with a record of 8-6, currently pacing New England for the final AFC Wild Card spot by just one game.

For their own respective reasons, both of these teams desperately need to make a statement this Sunday. And I don’t see either of these defensive units standing in the way of the high-powered offense standing opposite of them.

So, I’ll take the over here, as we’ll probably see fireworks between a Dolphins squad that’s scored 29+ points in five of their last seven games, and a Packers squad that’s averaging 26.6 PPG across their last five.

Score Prediction: Dolphins 30, Packers 24
Best Bet: Over 49.5 (-110)

With a record of 3-2 in their last five, it’s tough to claim that the Packers are officially back. But the general public still seems to be really down on this squad, and rightfully so, because they’ve been one of the biggest disappointments in the league all season.

It took almost the entire year for this offense to find its footing following the departure of Devante Adams. But now that the Packers are averaging over 26.5 PPG across their latest five-game window, their defense is finally starting to come around too.

When everything is firing on all cylinders for this squad, I still believe the Packers are capable of standing toe-to-toe with any team in the NFC. And they’ve proven that down the stretch with tightly contested matchups against the Cowboys and Eagles.

But unfortunately, it appears to be too little, a little bit too late following their 1-7 skid spanning the middle of the season. I wouldn’t count them out next year, though.

Miami owns a solid record of 8-6 on the season, but it’s still been a bit of a frustrating rid for the Fins, as they briefly lost Tua Tagovailoa to an injury following a perfect 3-0 start, inevitably resulting in a three-game losing streak in his absence, which brought Miami’s record down to 3-3 prior to Week 7.

However, the Dolphins’ offense didn’t skip a beat in the immediate aftermath of Tua’s return, as Miami countered their bumpy three-game skid with a 5-0 run in Weeks 7 through 12, while racking up a lofty average of 30.2 PPG on the offensive side of the ball during that timeframe.

Over the last few weeks, though, the Dolphins ventured out on a tough three-game road trip visiting the Niners, Chargers, and Bills, and they haven’t quite stood up to the task, highlighted by Miami posting losses in all three of those affairs.

There’s no shame in losing those matchups, especially considering they were underdogs in all three of them. However, the real worry for this squad clearly lies on the defensive side of the ball, as the Dolphins have now surrendered a lofty average of 29.3 PPG across their latest three-game losing streak. Which also plays to the ‘over’ here.
