Betting on the Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have an avid fanbase in the Southwest of the United States. With a long history and some famous names, the team has been able to keep their fandom alive. So, if you want to place your bets on the Arizona Cardinals, here is the place to start.

The Arizona Cardinals are a professional football team that was first established in 1898. The franchise plays in the National Football League as a member of the West division of the National Football Conference (NFC). The team plays their home games at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

The team started as an amateur football team based out of Chicago known as the Morgan Athletic Club. They joined the NFL as a charter member in 1920. This history makes the franchise one of the oldest continuously run professional football teams in the country. The team is also one of the two NFL charter member franchises that is still in operation since the founding of the NFL, with the other being the Chicago Bears.

The franchise relocated in 1960 to St. Louis where it operated until 1987. The team then relocated once again to Tempe, Arizona prior to the 1988 season. The team has won two NFL championships, but both were while the team was still located in Chicago. The first was a controversial win in 1925 and the second was in 1947.

However, the team now holds the longest active championship drought in sports in North America with seventy five seasons. The Cardinals are also the first NFL franchise to lose 700 games since its creation. Though, the team is also the only NFL team that has never lost a playoff game that was held at their home stadium.

Some of the most notable players who have ever played for the Cardinals are Jim Hart, Ottis Anderson, Larry Fitzgerald, Jim Bakken, and Dave Zastudil.

The Arizona Cardinals have had several notable rivalries over the years. The oldest is with the Chicago Bears, and is the oldest continuous matchup in the NFL as the two teams are the only two from the NFL’s 1920 inception. The Cardinals have also had a rivalry with the Los Angeles Rams, having begun in 1937 and seeing a resurgence in recent years. Finally, the Cardinals also have a rivalry with the Seattle Seahawks, which is one of the newest rivalries in the league, beginning in 2002 when the league’s realignment sent the two teams to the NFC West.

A bet you will see throughout most sports is a moneyline bet. A moneyline bet surrounds the ultimate victor of any given match. Below you will see what a moneyline bet could typically look like:

  • Arizona Cardinals: -110
  • Seattle Seahawks: +110

This example, lists the favored team as the Arizona Cardinals with odds of -110. What this means is for every $1 the bettor is looking to win, they would need to stake $1.10, to bet $110 to win $100. The underdog team in this matchup is the Seattle Seahawks with odds of +110. What this means is for every $1 staked, the bettor could win $1.10, to bet $100 to win $110.
