The biggest challenge for the Texans this week will be how they navigate the absence of starting QB C.J. Stroud, who still hasn’t cleared the league’s concussion protocol. Houston is 2-0 SU since backup Davis Mills took over under center, but the Texans needed an improbable 4th quarter comeback against the Jaguars in Week 10 and they only narrowly defeated the hapless Titans by 3 points in Week 11.

Meanwhile, the Bills are coming off of a 44-point offensive showing against the Buccaneers and appear to be firing on all cylinders on that side of the ball. It could be difficult for Mills and company to keep pace in this game, unless they are able to establish a strong ground attack.

As always, it is worth noting that straight wagers are a far more profitable long-term betting strategy than parlays. Still, parlays can be a fun way to get some extra action on a game to make things interesting!

James Cook 60+ Rushing Yards

James Cook hasn’t managed 60+ rushing yards in either of his last 2 games, marking the first time he’s been held under that threshold in consecutive weeks since last September – excluding Week 18, when Cook played limited snaps.

Houston’s run defense ranks top-10 across the board in most metrics this season, but if Buffalo is playing from in front, it’s possible that Cook simply gets to this number on volume alone.

Woody Marks 60+ Rushing Yards

Through 11 weeks, there haven’t been many teams worse against the run than the Bills, who rank 30th in DVOA, 30th in EPA/play, and 23rd in success rate. They have allowed 189+ rushing yards in 5 of their first 10 games this fall.

This past weekend, they allowed Sean Tucker to score a 44-yard touchdown untouched, so there is a non-zero chance that Woody Marks could get the job done here on a single play. Marks should have double-digit opportunities overall, so one big play would put him in a great spot to get to 60 rushing yards for the 3rd time in 5 games.

Josh Allen 50+ Rushing Yards

The Texans have a reputation as being one of the league’s best defenses, but if they have one salient weakness, it’s their inability to contain the quarterback in the pocket. Each of the last 4 quarterbacks they have faced have all gone over their rushing prop.

Houston isn’t afraid to play a high rate of man coverage, but even when they have been in zone this season, they have fallen victim to some big runs from opposing quarterbacks. 

In the last 4 weeks alone, they have allowed a 20-yard rush to Cam Ward, a 21-yard rush to Trevor Lawrence, a 25-yard rush to Bo Nix, and a 13-yard rush to Mac Jones. Allen is more than capable of exploiting this part of Houston’s defense.
