LATEST UPDATE: At 8:30 p.m. ET, 30 minutes before game time, BetMGM's three-way moneyline is at Argentina -145/Switzerland +450/Draw +240. That represents almost no movement off Tuesday night's opener of Argentina -145/Switzerland +450/Draw +250.

No surprise, it's heavy Argentina play on 90 minutes plus injury time, with about 70% of bets and 90% of cash on Messi & Co. Switzerland has the bulk of the other 30% of bets, while the remaining 10% of cash is split between Switzerland and Draw.

"Just like every other soccer game, we will need a draw at the end of 90 minutes,” BetMGM trading manager Tristan Davis said, hoping Argentina-Switzerland gets to overtime, and the Swiss then pull off the upset.

The total is at 2.5 (Under -160), after opening at 2.5 (Under -105). BetMGM reported 70% of money is on thee Over, so a low-scoring draw is the overall need for the book.

SECOND UPDATE: DraftKings Sportsbook's three-way moneyline is at Argentina -145/Switzerland +450/Draw +255, as of 8:30 p.m. ET Friday, about 24 hours before kickoff. All those numbers are on or around the opening line posted Tuesday night.

Even though Messi & Co. got taken to the limit in their last two matches – overtime vs. Cape Verde and a huge regulation comeback vs. Egypt – early bettors are all over Argentina. In three-way play at DraftKings, Argentina is attracting 85% of bets/91% of money.

Draw is actually outpacing Switzerland, at 10% of bets/5% of money, with the Swiss seing 5% of bets/4% of money.

The To Advance market is even more lopsided by percentage, at 90% of bets/91% of money on Argentina.

DraftKings' total is at 2.5 (Under -150), although the Over is taking 81% of bets/87% of money.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Defending champion Argentina continues to get tough tests and find ways to pass. In the Round of 16, Lionel Messi & Co. trailed Egypt 2-0 through 78 minutes, looking all but dead.

But Argentina then netted three goals to escape with a 3-2 victory as healthy -300 favorites Tuesday. Cristian Romero broke the dam with a 79th minute goal, Messi followed four minutes later, and Enzo Fernandez headed in the winner in the second minute of injury time.

That victory followed Argentina's heart-pounding 3-2 overtime win against even bigger underdog Cape Verde.

Meanwhile, underdog Switzerland was able to do what Egypt could not, in a match that went the full possible distance. The Swiss played Colombia to a 1-1 draw in regulation, and neither team scored in overtime.

Then Switzerland won the penalty-kick shootout 4-3 to take the match as +240 pups Tuesday.

FanDuel Sportsbook then opened Argentina vs. Switzerland odds, with the Argentines the no-surprise favorites. On the three-way moneyline, it's Argentina -145/Switzerland +450/Draw +260. In the To Advance market, it's Argentina -320/Switzerland +245.
