Mexico vs. South Africa Odds

  • Opening moneyline: Mexico -185/South Africa +675/Draw +230
  • Opening total: Over/Under 2.5 goals scored
  • Time: 3 p.m. ET Thursday (FOX)

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Mexico joins the USA and Canada as host countries, and home-field advantage could certainly serve El Tri well. Between the altitude and popularity, Mexico is getting plenty of attention for its opener.

After opening -185 on BetMGM's three-way moneyline, Mexico is now out to -250, with South Africa holding as a +675 underdog, as of 8 p.m. ET Wednesday. Draw has been a mover, as well, from +230 to +350.

Bettors are totally willing to lay the home team's price, with ticket count 3/1 and money well beyond 9/1 on Mexico. South Africa is taking 20% of bets and just 4% of cash, while Draw is at 8% of bets/2% of money.

"Draw or South Africa would be a great result for the book. Either would kill a ton of parlays and same-game parlays. And Under 2.5 would also be good to see from our side," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.
