Villanova’s straight-up seven-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday with a stunning 76-61 loss to Creighton as a 6 ½-point home favorite. Part of that winning streak included a 76-61 home victory against Butler on Jan. 21 as a 3 ½-point favorite. They are now 17-4 straight-up with an even 10-10-1 record against the spread. This includes a 7-2 SU (6-3 ATS) record in Big East play. The total has stayed UNDER in four of the Wildcats’ last five games. Guard Collin Gillespie and forward Saddiq Bey are each averaging 15 points per game.

The 17-5 Bulldogs have just two SU wins in their last six games as part of a 5-4 record in conference play. They have failed to cover ATS in five of those six games to fall to 12-9-1 ATS. The total stayed UNDER in their last two games after going OVER in their previous five contests. Kamar Baldwin leads the team in scoring with 16.0 PPG. The senior guard scored 21 points in the previous game against Villanova. Butler is averaging 69.0 points a game with a points-allowed average of 59.9 that is ranked eighth in the nation.

Betting Trends

-- The Wildcats have won their last three road games both SU and ATS but they are 4-6 SU and 3-7 ATS over their last 10 road games. The total has stayed UNDER in eight of those last 10 games.

-- The Bulldogs are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games at home with an even 5-5 record ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in four of their last six home games.

-- Villanova is now 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS in its last 10 games against Butler with that earlier win. The total has gone OVER in six of the last seven meetings.

Betting Matchup

The Pirates’ extended 10-game SU winning streak came to an end with Saturday’s 74-62 home loss to Xavier as 8 ½-point favorites. This was their first SU loss in Big East play this season and they have now failed to cover in their last four games. Seton Hall is 16-5 SU with a 13-7-1 record ATS. It rolled to a 78-62 victory at home against Georgetown on Jan. 3 to easily cover the 6 ½-point spread. More recently, Senior guard Myles Powell (21.4 PPG) was held to just nine points in 35 minutes of playing time against Xavier. Guard Quincy McKnight is day-to-day with a knee injury.

The Hoyas have doubled up their Big East wins with losses to go 3-6 SU in conference play. They snapped a three-game skid (SU and ATS) with Sunday’s 73-73 squeaker against St. John’s as four-point road underdogs. The total has stayed UNDER in eight of their last 10 games. Georgetown is 13-9 SU overall and 10-11-1 ATS after failing to cover in seven of its last nine games. It did erase a 17-point deficit on Sunday to get a much needed win.

Betting Trends

-- The Pirates are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS in their last four road games. The total has gone OVER in all four of those contests.

-- The Hoyas are 7-3 SU in their last 10 home games with a 5-4-1 record ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in three of their last five games played at home.

-- With the earlier win, Seton Hall is 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games against Georgetown. The total has stayed UNDER in eight of those 10 games including the last three meetings.
