Wisconsin comes into this game as a three-point road favorite with the betting line for the total set at 130.5 points.

The Badgers’ recent 12-point loss to Ohio State as a -5.5-point home favorite dropped their Big Ten record to 6-3 straight-up and 4-5 against the spread. They have failed to cover in three of their last five games. The total has stayed UNDER in three of their last four contests.

This series is tied 5-5 (SU and ATS) over the past 10 meetings following Wisconsin’s six-point loss to Maryland as a -9.5-point home favorite on Dec. 28. The total has stayed UNDER in four of the Badgers’ last five road games against the Terrapins.

Maryland knocked off Minnesota by 14 points this past Saturday as a +5.5-point road underdog. This followed a lopsided 24-point road loss to Michigan as a +10.5-point underdog. The Terrapins are 2-4 ATS over their last six Big Ten games with the total staying UNDER in three of their last five outings.

The Terps have failed to cover in five of their last six home games.

Wisconsin trailed Ohio State by seven points at the half in Saturday’s loss and the gap widened to 12 by the final buzzer. The lone bright spot was Aleem Ford’s 13 points and seven rebounds.

The senior forward is third on the team in scoring (9.6 points) with 4.4 rebounds a game. Guard D’Mitrik Trice is at the top of that list with 14.6 points per game while shooting 45.8% from the field. This includes an efficient 42.5 shooting percent from three-point range.

The Badgers are averaging 72.6 PPG while hitting 44 percent of their shots. This drops to 37.9% beyond the three-point line.

Wisconsin is pulling down an average of 34.6 rebounds a game with the majority coming on the defensive end of the court. It is holding opposing teams to 62.2 PPG.

Eric Ayala led the way in Saturday’s road upset over Minnesota with 21 points. The junior guard has been Maryland’s leading scorer this season with an average of 14.4 PPG.

Forward Donta Scott and guard Aaron Wiggins are also a big part of this offense. Scott is second in scoring with 13.0 points while pulling down a team-high 6.9 rebounds.

Wiggins is the third player averaging at least 12 PPG while leading the way in assists (3.0).

Overall, Maryland is scoring an average of 72.4 points with 34.4 rebounds. It is shooting 46.8% from the field and 36.3% from three-point range.

Defensively, the Terrapins have a points-allowed average of 67.4. This has dropped to 64.3 points over their last four contests.

Wisconsin-Maryland Predictions

Ayala and Wiggins combined for 32 points in Maryland’s road upset over Wisconsin earlier in the season. The Terrapins also benefitted from 50 percent shooting from the field.

The Badgers have battled consistency problems this season with a few bad losses, but I still like their chances to even the score against Maryland both SU and ATS on the road.

The Terrapins have played their best ball this season away from home and Wisconsin is primed for a much better performance on the road this Wednesday night.

I'm also going with the UNDER on the current total line. To get the win this time around, I see Wisconsin tightening things up on defense to keep the total scoring lower than anticipated in the betting line.
