The Badgers had to deal with a bunch of COVID issues last season and it was reflected in their record as they went 4-3. However, two of those defeats came against Northwestern and Iowa on the road, both who were ranked at the time.

Wisconsin dominated in three of its four victories, while holding off Minnesota in overtime. They return quarterback Graham Mertz, who threw seven touchdown passes in his first two games before tossing only two touchdowns the rest of the season.

Penn State didn't beat any great competition last season, while owning a 4-6 ATS record as a road underdog under head coach James Franklin.

Wisconsin finished at 4-3, but jumped out to a 2-0 start following road blowouts of Illinois and Michigan. However, the Badgers had two games cancelled and another postponed as UW went through a three-game losing streak in which it scored a total 20 points.

Penn State stumbled to an 0-5 start, which included a stunning home loss to Maryland as 27-point favorites. But, the Nittany Lions rebounded for four straight victories to close the season, although they didn't beat a team that finished with a winning record.
