Data Analysis: The Most Googled Athletes, Actors & Singers In 150+ Countries Revealed

With the end of the year approaching, VegasInsider has analyzed Google searches of the past 12 months to find out which famous singers, actors and athletes were the most popular in 2025 across 150+ countries around the world as well as all the American states.
HIGHLIGHTS
According to the results of the analysis, which included 700+ celebrities and 150+countries:
- Billie Eilish was the most googled singer in the most countries around the world - 33 - followed by Rihanna, who was the most googled in 22 countries.
- Sydney Sweeney was the most googled actor in the most countries - 68 - followed closely by Selena Gomez, who was the most searched-for actor in 67 countries.
- Cristiano Ronaldo was the most googled athlete in the most countries - 76 - followed by Lamine Yamal, who was the most searched-for athlete in 37 countries.
- In the United States, Sydney Sweeney was the most searched-for actor in all 50 states.
- In the United States, Taylor Swift was by far the most searched-for singer - she was the most searched-for singer in 42 states.
- In the United States, LeBron James was the most searched-for athlete - he was the most googled in 28 states.
THE MOST POPULAR SINGERS
Billie Eilish was the most searched-for singer in the most countries - 33 - followed by Rihanna, who was the most googled in 22 countries. BTS is in third place since they were the most googled in 20 countries in 2025.
When looking at numbers, BTS and Taylor Swift each recorded 16,600,000 average monthly worldwide Google searches, the most out of all musicians. Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, and Sabrina Carpenter followed with 13,600,000 searches each.
In the United States, Taylor Swift was by far the most popular - she was the most searched-for singer in 42 states - followed by Kendrick Lamar who was the most googled in 4 states. Morgan Wallen is in third place since he was the most googled singer in 3 states and Bad Bunny is the last artist on the list since he was the most googled singer in Florida.
In the US, Taylor Swift recorded 6,120,000 average monthly Google searches, the most out of all musicians. Kendrick Lamar and Sabrina Carpenter followed with 4,090,000 searches each.
THE MOST POPULAR ACTORS
Sydney Sweeney was the most googled actor in the most countries - 68 - followed closely by Selena Gomez, who was the most searched-for actor in 67 countries. Will Smith is in third place since he was the most googled in 16 countries in 2025.
Numbers-wise, Sydney Sweeney led with 11,100,000 average monthly worldwide searches, the most out of all actors in 2025. Selena Gomez is in second place with 7,480,000 worldwide searches, while Pedro Pascal, Scarlett Johansson, and Brad Pitt each recorded 6,120,000 average monthly searches.
In the United States, Sydney Sweeney was the most searched-for actor in all 50 states.
In the US, once again, Sydney Sweeney led with 4,090,000 average monthly searches, the most out of all actors in 2025. Selena Gomez was in second place with 2,240,000 searches.
THE MOST POPULAR ATHLETES
Cristiano Ronaldo was the most googled athlete in the most countries - 76 - followed by Lamine Yamal, who was the most searched-for athlete in 37 countries. Messi is in third place since he was the most googled in 16 countries. Meanwhile, Coco Gauff is in fourth place - she was the most searched-for athlete in 8 countries. Max Verstappen closes out the top 5 - he was the most googled in 6 countries.
Cristiano Ronaldo also topped the numbers category with 13,600,000 average worldwide monthly searches, the most out of all athletes. Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Lamine Yamal each had 9,140,000 average monthly searches, followed by Messi with 7,480,000.
In the United States, LeBron James was the most searched-for athlete - he was the most googled in 28 states. Aaron Rodgers was the second most googled athlete since he was the most searched-for in 7 states, while Jayson Tatum is in third place - he was the most googled in 3 states.
In the US, LeBron James topped the list with 3,350,000 average monthly searches. In second place tie, Aaron Rodgers and Travis Kelce each recorded 2,240,000 average monthly searches.

METHODOLOGY
- Final analysis took place in December 2025
- The search results were based on the number of average monthly searches in the past 12 months (gained from Google Keywords Planner)
- Number of celebrities analyzed: 790
- Number of countries analyzed: 188
- If there was no data available for a given country, it was omitted from the analysis (and it appears in light grey in the maps)
- If a personality is known in multiple fields, such as a musician and an actor, and they were active in both in the past year, they were included in the search results for both of those categories (for example, Selena Gomez for both acting and singing)
